Akshay realised the trip had finally started somewhere after the second cup of roadside chai.
Not at the airport and not even after landing in Srinagar. But during the drive toward Doodhpathri, when the roads slowly became quieter, snow started appearing in patches beside the mountains, and both he and Hithesh stopped checking their phones every few minutes.
Later, in Akshay's Kashmir review on Tripadvisor, they highlighted how the entire trip felt like being nestled in a relaxing and comforting atmosphere.
"I had an amazing experience during my trip! All the stays were absolutely beautiful, offering comfort and a relaxing atmosphere."

That probably became the biggest reason the experience stayed memorable.
Because once the six-day trip properly began on 23rd February 2025, everything moved at exactly the right pace. The long drives, peaceful stays, snow-covered valleys, and quiet evenings somehow balanced each other naturally.
Doodhpathri Was the Calm Start They Needed

The drive itself slowly introduced them to Kashmir. Snow-covered patches still rested along parts of the roads, while tall pine trees and open valleys stretched endlessly outside the car windows.
By the time they reached Doodhpathri, the entire place felt unbelievably quiet.
The wide green meadows, streams flowing through the valley, and cold mountain air gave the first day a slower rhythm almost immediately. Neither of them felt any pressure to “cover” things quickly. They mostly walked around, stopped near the river for photos, and spent long stretches simply standing there taking in the view.
Later that evening, back in Srinagar, they explored local markets around Badshah Chowk and Zaina Kadal. The small shops, dried fruits, winter clothes, and warm kahwa from roadside stalls made the city feel lively without feeling overwhelming.
And that balance stayed throughout the trip.
Sonmarg Brought the Snow They Had Been Waiting For

The next morning’s drive to Sonmarg became one of the highlights almost instantly. The roads opened into massive valleys with rivers flowing beside them, while snow slowly became more visible as they moved higher into the mountains.
Akshay and Hithesh took the horseback ride toward Thajiwas Glacier, where the snow stayed untouched across huge stretches of the valley. The cold there felt sharper than in Srinagar, but neither of them really cared much about it anymore.
What made the experience even better was their cab driver.
Over the next few days, he slowly became one of the most important parts of the trip itself. He knew local shortcuts, smaller food spots, and scenic stops that tourists usually miss, as Akshay's Kashmir review on Tripadvisor pointed out.
"The cab driver was exceptional — not only was he friendly, but he also knew about all the local spots and made sure to take us to some great places we wouldn't have found otherwise."
Gulmarg Felt Like a Proper Winter Holiday

On day three, they left for Gulmarg.
The roads toward Gulmarg slowly disappeared under thicker snow, and the weather somehow became even colder. But by then, both Akshay and Hithesh had fully settled into mountain-trip mode. The sightseeing covered places like Strawberry Valley, Drung Waterfall, and the famous Igloo Café. Everywhere around them looked covered in soft white snow.
Pahalgam Slowed Everything Down
Compared to Gulmarg, they mentioned how Pahalgam felt quieter to them. The roads became calmer, the rivers wider, and the entire atmosphere slower in the best possible way. Their sightseeing covered Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari, each looking completely different from the last. Betaab Valley felt wide and cinematic; Aru Valley looked softer and greener under the winter light, while Chandanwari brought back snow-covered mountain views again.
Besides all this, they also remembered random moments that happened during the drives in between. Whether it was stopping for tea at roadside stalls, watching the Lidder River flow beside the roads or sitting silently inside the cab after long sightseeing days, such moments stayed longer than expected.
The Houseboat Stay Felt Like the Perfect Ending

Their final day back in Srinagar brought a completely different atmosphere again. After sightseeing through Mughal Gardens like Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, they finally headed toward their houseboat stay on Dal Lake, and that became the most relaxing part of the entire journey.
The shikara ride across Dal Lake during sunset felt calm in a way photographs honestly fail to capture properly. The water reflected the lights around the lake while the mountains slowly faded into the evening sky. Later that night, sitting inside the houseboat with warm food and complete silence outside, both of them agreed on the same thing.
The trip had never once felt stressful.
The Part Where Thrillophilia Made the Trip Feel Effortless

For Akshay and Hithesh, one of the best parts of the trip was that they never really had to stress about anything once the journey started. Even though they covered Srinagar, Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam in six days, the itinerary never felt overly hectic or exhausting.
The stays stayed comfortable throughout, transfers were always on time, and the overall coordination by Thrillophilia made the experience feel smooth from beginning to end. They especially liked that the trip still felt flexible enough to slow down and enjoy places properly instead of constantly rushing to the next stop.
Akshay's Kashmir review on Tripadvisor ended on a warm note which urged more travellers to follow in his steps.
"Highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a stress-free and enjoyable getaway!"
