Historic Cities, Tuscan Hills, and Art Centers

The long-planned trip started in Rome, where a private driver met the mother and son at the airport and took them to their hotel. A bus tour showed them around famous landmarks before stopping at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, followed by a nice evening walk through the cobblestone streets of Trastevere. Moving past Rome, the journey went through the green hills of Tuscany, stopping in the old town of Orvieto and near Lake Trasimeno before reaching Siena. After seeing the high stone towers of San Gimignano, they arrived in Florence, where they enjoyed seeing world-famous artwork and grand old buildings. The trip as if transported them to a whole new world, the destination itself was a magnificent choice that captured their interests deeply.

Heading toward the coast on day seven, the mother and son duo took a fun local train to see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Their coastal tour continued into Cinque Terre, a group of five bright fishing villages built right along the sea cliffs. They rode a coastal train to Vernazza to see the old houses and blue water, then took a boat ride to Portofino to watch the ships in the harbor before travelling north to Milan to view its massive cathedral that stood splendidly against the blue sky. It was not just a mere trip for them, they also bonded in a way that brought back all the years spent before this. Starting from sharing and laughing over the bittersweet memories of childhood to confessing the secrets kept for so long, they spent a lovely time together. 

Calm Mountain Lakes, Water Canals, and Happy Memories

The final part of their Italian trip took them into northern Italy's pretty lake district and famous water pathways. Visiting Lake Orta, Jayanthi and her son rode a small boat across the water to the peaceful Island of San Giulio to see its old monastery. They then made stops at Lake Maggiore and visited Verona, the historic town known for the story of Romeo and Juliet, where they walked around old stone arenas and paved streets.

Arriving in Venice by boat on the tenth day, the mother and son stepped into St. Mark’s Square to explore the canal paths with a guide. They also visited a local workshop on Murano Island to watch glassmakers shape hot glass into pretty art pieces. As the sun set over the water, the two looked back on ten days of fun travel and new sights. With every ride and stay arranged nicely by Priyanka Paw and the local team, Jayanthi and her son went home with great stories and memories to share forever.
