A Nordic trip usually works best not just as a northern lights anchor but also as a balanced tour covering both Iceland's raw nature and the sophisticated charm of the Scandinavian capitals.

Furqan's solo twenty-one-day tour across Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland was in careful curation with this exact balance in mind from that first phone call to Prashant.

The promise of seamlessly covering five countries in three weeks made him apprehensive, but after experiencing the long and detailed itinerary that Thrillophilia provided, an immediate highlight was made in Furqan's Nordic tour review on Thrillophilia's platform.

"Every part of the trip was seamlessly planned and well executed. The hotels were comfortable and well-located and all the local operators and drivers were professional and helpful. The detailed itinerary meant everything ran smoothly per plan without any issues."

From the first morning in Reykjavik to the final night by Helsinki Airport, the Thrillophilia team had planned the country changes, the train and flight journeys, and the minute self-transfers between stations and hotels and explained it all to him well in advance.

Iceland Did Not Need Selling

The trip started in Iceland, and it was from here that everything else was formed. The first three days each focused on the Golden Circle, the south coast, and a day at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and an ice cave.

Due to his overnight stays in authentic country guesthouses, as recommended by the team, there were no 4-hour drives back to Reykjavik each night, keeping the travel fatigue at a minimum.

The Northern Lights appeared during his first night away from the city. Later, Furqan explained how the guides were forthcoming about the odds of actually being able to witness it ahead of time, which made the moment feel even more significant.

Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo Saw a Different Pace

Leaving Iceland, the trip shifted to Scandinavian capitals, and the mood of the trip completely changed. Copenhagen was the first location, spending two nights in a hotel near the central station for ease of travel, followed by a trip to Møn Klint and the Forest Tower over the remaining two days. The minibus was ensured to be equipped with Wi-Fi, which made the whole trip even smoother.

Reaching Stockholm by train and going for an old town walking tour in the evening, along with a slow walk through Gamla Stan, requires an in-depth understanding of the city to plan. Oslo came next, also by train, and the two-hour fjord cruise from Rådhusbrygge gave the group their first proper view of what Norwegian water looks like up close.

Covering three cities by three trains and transferring to three separate hotels, this is what Furqan candidly highlighted in his Nordic review on Thrillophilia's platform.

"We enjoyed exploring Copenhagen's elegance, Oslo's modern vibe, Stockholm's rich history, and Helsinki's unique coastal beauty. The journeys between cities offered a scenic and relaxing way to travel, allowing us to absorb the stunning landscapes."

Norway: The Journey Most Remembered

The Norway in a Nutshell leg (bus and train) from Oslo to Bergen is the highlight of the trip for those who book this trip.

A whole day of trains and buses on the mountain, followed by then a boat back to the fjords, was aided with porter service, so no one had to struggle with suitcases at the changeovers.

Tromsø Was Where the Trip Turned Magical

Furqan took a direct flight from Bergen to reach Tromsø and finally started off the Arctic part of the trip. Furqan, further in his review on Thrillophilia's platform, didn't forget to mention the pre-booked northern lights cruises that made the trip magical.

"In Tromsø, the Northern Lights cruises and tours were magical, and the expert guides and a professional photographer ensured we captured the perfect memories."

The first night turned out to be spectacular on the Northern Lights cruise, with hot drinks and a guide leading our solo traveller to witness the most surreal view. The second evening was all about understanding Arctic photography, starting with a small group led by a professional photographer. The expert handled the camera settings so nobody struggled with manual controls to capture the lights, especially in such cold weather. The cruise was topped off with a whale-watch safari, which, despite being physically tiring, was a one-of-a-kind activity on the itinerary.

Rovaniemi and Helsinki Marked the End of the Trip

Crossing from Tromsø to Rovaniemi in Finland, the Arctic Route coach suddenly entered winter wonderland territory. Snowmobiling led to a reindeer farm, which led to a husky park, which led to Santa Claus Village, all packed into one full day.

The Ranua Wildlife Park visit the next day rounded out the Finnish leg before the overnight Santa Claus Express sleeper train carried the group down to Helsinki for the trip's last two days.

By this point, the trip had given Furqan quite a lot, and Helsinki was the kind of soft landing that long trips need at the end.

Furqan's Thoughts on the Trip and Thrillophilia's Coordination

After returning home, Furqan crafted a detailed review on Thrillophilia's platform, highlighting how more than the destination itself, the coordination, the activities, and the constant support made the apprehension disappear from his thoughts.

"Overall, this trip created memories that will last a lifetime and we highly recommend this itinerary for anyone wishing to experience the best of the Nordic countries."

With Thrillophilia's constant monitoring and on-ground support, a 21-day trip across five Nordic countries was successfully covered. By the time Furqan came home, he had quietly become one of those travellers who tell the next person to just book it.
