A Dubai holiday can look very different when the travellers include parents, a couple and a toddler. Kunal Patil’s family of five arrived in the UAE with three generations travelling together, giving them a chance to experience Dubai’s famous attractions while keeping the arrangements suited to their family.

Their seven-day itinerary brought together city sightseeing, a Marina dhow cruise, Warner Bros. World, Yas Island Waterpark, a desert safari, Miracle Garden, Global Village, the Dubai Frame, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Aquarium. Dubai by Day, Marina by Night

The family’s Dubai experience began with arrival on 26 March, followed by a full sightseeing day on 27 March. The city’s modern skyline, grand avenues and famous landmarks formed the backdrop as they explored Dubai before heading towards the Marina.

As evening arrived, the family boarded a traditional dhow for a dinner cruise through Dubai Marina. The experience brought a slower pace after a day of sightseeing, with the illuminated towers of the Marina rising around the water as dinner was served onboard.

For a family travelling with both elderly members and a young child, having different experiences within the same itinerary created a comfortable rhythm. The day offered sightseeing with an evening experience where everyone could sit back and take in the city from the water.

A Day in Abu Dhabi

The next morning brought a road trip to Abu Dhabi and Yas Island. The family spent the day exploring Warner Bros. World and Yas Island Waterpark, bringing some of the trip’s most playful experiences into the itinerary.

Warner Bros. World offered an indoor theme-park setting filled with familiar characters and themed attractions, while Yas Island Waterpark added another dimension to the day. With two major attractions planned together, the family had a full day of entertainment before returning to Dubai.

The Abu Dhabi excursion also gave the family a glimpse of a second UAE city during the same holiday. The contrast between Dubai’s dense skyline and Yas Island’s entertainment district added variety to the trip.

From Dubai Frame to Desert

Back in Dubai, the next day showed two very different sides of the city. The family visited the Dubai Frame, an architectural landmark designed around the idea of viewing old and new Dubai from a single vantage point.

Later, the landscape changed dramatically. The family headed into the desert for an evening safari, trading skyscrapers for golden dunes. The experience included a BBQ dinner and live entertainment, bringing together the traditional and festive side of a Dubai desert evening.

The shift from the city’s glass towers to the open desert made the day particularly varied. Within a few hours, the family moved from one of Dubai’s most recognisable architectural landmarks to a landscape shaped entirely by sand and open skies.

Gardens and Global Village

The following day offered another colourful combination. Miracle Garden filled the itinerary with elaborate floral displays and large-scale installations created from flowers, while Global Village brought together international cultures, food, shopping and entertainment in one expansive destination.

For the family, the two experiences created an easy sightseeing day with plenty to explore at their own pace. Miracle Garden provided a bright daytime setting, while Global Village came alive in the evening with its pavilions and cultural themes.

The itinerary continued to balance major attractions with experiences that could be enjoyed across different age groups, keeping all five family members involved in the holiday.

Dubai from 124 Floors Up

The final full day saved two of Dubai’s biggest attractions for the end. The family headed to Burj Khalifa and visited the observation deck on Level 124, where the city stretched out far below.

From that height, Dubai’s distinctive geography became visible in a single panorama. The dense cluster of skyscrapers gave way to roads, neighbourhoods and stretches of desert extending towards the horizon.

The day continued at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, where thousands of aquatic creatures could be viewed within one of the world’s largest suspended aquarium displays. The combination created a fitting final day of sightseeing, moving from the highest levels of Dubai’s skyline to an underwater world beneath the city.
