So you have decided to take the plunge and determined that you will take a trip to the coveted Leh Ladakh region. But you do not have a lot of cash to fork out. Don't worry, we've got your back. Our 6 days, 7 nights backpacking tour in Ladakh will make your dreams come true without burning a hole in your pocket. The tour is taken in the summer and spring months, from May to September, and there are at least 4 to 5 departure dates predetermined every month. Pick up and drop off facilities will be included in your package, along with accommodation, transport in between the tourist destinations, and an experienced guide to help you throughout the journey.

It will cover all the major tourist destinations in the region, from Shanti Stupa and magnetic hill to Hall of Fame, Pangong Lake, Shey Palace, and Stok village. Witness the exquisite beauty of Ladakh in all its naked splendor. The rich valley is blessed with a variety of landscapes, ranging from rugged and rocky terrains where the desert stretches out as far as the eye can see, to snow-covered majestic mountain peaks disappearing into the clouds, and lush green valleys with wildflowers blooming in vibrant hues.

Day 1

The journey begins at the arrival point where our representative will pick you up and help you get to the hotel. You will have a day to get used to the higher altitude and thin air of the region, after which you can visit the Shanti Stupa in the evening if you feel up for it. This is also a local bazaar which is worth exploring.

Day 2

The second day begins with a picturesque drive to the confluence of Zanskar and Indus rivers, followed by a spiritual visit to the Gurudwara Pathar. You will also get to enjoy the delightful experience of your car going up the Magnetic Hill in neutral gear. Visit the school where Aamir Khan's Rancho studied in 3 Idiots, and enjoy a moment of quiet reflection in Spituk Gompa. In the evening, you will return from the Sham Valley to Leh, where you will stay for the night.

Day 3

For the adventure enthusiasts, the most exciting lag of the journey begins on the third day when you will head to the Nubra Valley via one of the world's highest motorable roads on the Khardung La pass. Don't forget to take your camera along, because the Nubra Valley is filled with breathtaking views at every turn. You will also get to enjoy the unique experience of riding a double-humped camel. There's more to it! Check out the beautiful Diskit Monastery in the evening. The accommodation that night will be arranged in the valley itself.

Day 4

Soak in the remarkable views of the world's highest saltwater lake at 14000 feet above sea level when you go visit the Pangong Lake the next day. Spend a few minutes lounging by the lake and breathe in the natural, pollution-free environs. Since the night stay is at a camp near the lake, you can take a stroll at the banks under the star-studded dome. It will indeed be one of the most unforgettable nights of your life.

Day 5

On the fifth day, the crew will return to Leh via Chang La pass. On the way, you will have a stopover at Thiksey Gompa where you’ll get to enjoy the sight of thousands of little colorful flags fluttering in the wind, as the monastery bells ring in the background. You will also get to visit the beautiful Shey Gompa and Palace which is a mesmerizing site on its own. When you return to Leh in the evening, take the rest of the day off to shake off the exhaustion of traveling and relax and rejuvenate at the hotel. If you are feeling up for it, visit the local market and get some souvenirs for your loved ones back home.

Day 6

On the last day, the crew will head to an offbeat location called Stok village where you will get to witness the untainted and virgin Ladakh culture. Get to know the locals and enjoy the piping hot Ladakhi delicacies. Take the day to experience the unbridled and untamed local experience from up close. You will return to Leh in the evening where you will stay at the hotel. The next day, you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home.

This itinerary will let you cover almost all the tourist hotspots in the region while staying within your budget. Pangong Lake

Nubra Valley

One of the most beautiful parts of the moonscapes of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is a deep-cut gorge created by the combined effects of Shyok and Nubra (Siachen) rivers. A high altitude cold desert, Nubra Valley is actually an extension of the Tibetan Plateau (Qing-Zang Plateau) that starts in China and extends up to Ladakh. This valley in the plateau separates the Ladakh Range from the Karakoram Range. But more than anything, Nubra Valley is the most beautiful region in all of Ladakh. Home to wonders like the Diskit Monastery,Hunder Sand Dunes, Samstanling Gompa, Yarab Tso Lake, and the villages of Turtuk and Panamik.Located about 160 km from Leh, the capital of Ladakh, Nubra Valley is a great attraction to all those who come here. Khardung La

Khardung La pass is a gateway to some of the most enchanting and unexplored landscapes. Located in the Leh district of the Indian Union Territory, Khardung La is situated at an elevation of 5,359 meters. It is hailed to be the highest motorable pass all across the globe. Historically speaking, Khardung La is quite significant as it lies on the major caravan route that links Leh to Kashgar in Central Asia. During the second world war, an attempt to transfer war well to China was made through this route. Khardung La was constructed in the year 1976 and was made accessible to public motor vehicles in the year 1988. The pass is maintained by the Border Roads Organisation and is of great strategic importance as it is used to carry goods to the Siachen Glacier.

Tso Moriri Lake

Also known as the Mountain Lake, Tso Moriri is one of the two most popular lakes in the Ladakh region of the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. While Pangong Tso is the more popular out of the two, it’s Tso Moriri which manages to take the breath away of the visitors with its tranquil beauty.Located at an altitude of a whopping 4595 metres above the sea level, Tso Moriri is a calm and serene high altitude lake in Changtang Wildlife Sanctuary.
