For those who love to explore the unexplored, this Pasighat tour trek is one of the best options. This trek takes you on an eventful journey in the eastern Himalayas located in the largely unexplored state of Arunachal Pradesh. This 11 day trek requires a lot of stamina and is meant for avid trekkers. There are challenges involved, but at the end of it, the experience is worth it.
Day 01: Guwahati to Pasighat
We take a drive from Guwahati to Pasighat, passing beautiful mountains and a river stream as well on our way. There is an overnight camp at Pasighat
Day 02: Pasighat to Tuting
On day 2 as well, we travel in the comfort of our vehicle. We cross quaint villages and unspoilt scenery of Arunachal Pradesh to reach Tuting. There is an overnight stay at the camp here.
Day 03: Tuting to Kugging
This is where the trek begins. We start our trek from Tuting, crossing a suspension bridge, and then embarking on a steep trail into the forests of the region. The trek takes about 4-5 hours before we reach Kugging, a small tribal village. There is an overnight camp at Kugging.
Day 04:Kugging to Yortyung
After the uphill climb of the previous day, we descend towards Nyering, a Buddhist Village, via Yungsang River. After a short ascent uphill through some more villages, we again descend to the village of Yortyung, where there are arrangements made for an overnight camp.
Day 05: Yortyung to Tasigong
We descend further to the village of Mancotta, which is located close to Deva Kota. From here, it is a steep 2 hour climb to the village of Tasigong.
Day 06: Tasigong to Singa
This day is all about descending. We climb down lush green villages to reach the village of Singa for an overnight stay at the camp.
Day 07: Singa to Riu Ta La Pass
We descend further through some more valleys before we reach the base of Riu Ta La Pass. There is an overnight stay at the camp.
Day 08: Riu Ta La Pass to Simeong
We make our way to Riu Ta La Pass, which is a largely unexplored trail. The top of the pass gives you magnificent views of the Namche Barwa Peak and the valleys of Arunachal Pradesh. After reaching the top of the pass, we descend to the valley for about a couple of hours. A further trek takes us to the village of Simeong, where there are arrangements made for an overnight camp.
Day 09: Simeong to Mareyang
After an early morning breakfast, we hop into our vehicles and set forth for Mareyang. It is a zig-zag trail, combined with some steep climbs before we reach the town of Mareyang. There is an overnight stay in tents here.
Day 10: Mareyang to Pasighat
It is time to head back to Pasighat. The drive takes you through dense forests where you can spot wild animals as well as exotic species of birds. There are arrangements made for an overnight stay at the eco camp.
Day 11: Back to Guwahati
After that amazing trek, it is time to head back to Guwahati.
