Dodital Trek starts at Uttarkashi where you reach by road. You can also take your route from Kalyani from where climbing to Agoda is quite smooth and natural. You come across the regular woods, villages and meadows and a mule path. From Agoda as you walk further to the Dodital you traverse through thick woods before you finally arrive at Dodital.
The lake is a beautiful one at 3307 meters. There are pine trees all around and the calming effect it leaves on you is surely one of a kind and worth remembering for the rest of your life.
Darwa Bugyal meadow in the background adds to the natural beauty of this lake.
Hanuman Chatti: At 7200 feet this towering little hamlet is a few miles away from Gaurikund.
The word chatti symbolizes that once upon a time pilgrims stopped by and halted here.
Today this place is home to renunciates who come here from Juna Akhara. These do the job of looking after temples here.
How to get there
By Air: Located at 24 km from Rishikesh, Jolly Grant is the closest airport.
Though, taking a flight to this place is not advisable.
By Road: Road network is well connected to all major towns of Uttaranchal and surrounding areas.
By Rail: Rishikesh is linked to all the major towns and cities of India. Some of the links are accessible only from Haridwar.
