  • 01 Lhuntse Tshechu

    Bordering the Tibetan region Lhuntse is the easternmost district of Bhutan. The place is filled with various sacred monuments but it is Lhuntse Dzong the fortress that attracts all eyes of the visitors. Almost all the villages of Lhuentse have their own festivals and customs which are unique and extremely attractive but what catches the eye most is the elaborate annual three day festival which is celebrated to honor the deities and suppress the misfortunes.
     
    It is a religious celebration and that is why huge devotees gather here to visualize the masked dance and fetch blessings from the pious relics that remain publicly displayed. It is one of the colorful festivals of the country along with Cha and Ha festivals.

  • 02 Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary

    The Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the stunning landscapes of alpine meadows and encompasses gorgeous alpine lakes. Bumdelling conservation area was merged with Kulong Chhu Wildlife Sanctuary and therefore, was officially established in 1994. The Bumdelling Valley situated here is one of the two wintering spots for the Black Necked Crane.

    The Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 1, 545 sq. km among which 1/3rd is occupied by human civilization. The villagers are sweet and friendly. The area is an idyllic ground for trekking as the routes are covered with lush meadows and towered by alpine forest.

    : Cultural and heritage sites that has significance internationally; Known as the paradise of butterflies for it has more than 120 recorded species of Butterflies inhabiting there. Handicrafts such as wooden bowls, handmade papers and Buddhist painted scrolls can be bought in the village
