About the Activity:
Home to numerous birds and animals, the Dandeli Anshi Tiger Reserve, near the Karnataka–Goa border is located in the Western Ghats. This safari into the reserve is conducted twice daily – first at 6 am and the second at 4 pm. For the morning slot, you would be driven from Dandeli to Kulgi at 5 am. Here you are transferred onto an open jeep of the forest department and the safari commences immediately. The same safari can be undertaken in the evening for which you would need to start at 3:30 pm and you would return at 6 pm. The entire activity from the start to the end would take around 3.5 hours.
The forests of this park are bio diverse and are home to over 300 species of birds - most prominent among them being the hornbills. Bird watchers and professional ornithologists are to be rewarded with sightings of rare and unique birds in their natural habitat. With a skilled naturalist to guide you through the forest area and share with you the interesting details of animal kingdom, the trip inside the sanctuary is a great learning experience. At the end of the trip, you will be dropped back to Dandeli.
