This place is situated 93 kms away from Bangalore. The first 89 km can be driven through but the remaining 4 have to be walked or be made through using a different mode of transportation. This spot near Bangalore is a gorgeous and a spectacular place where the river Caveri flows through a tapered narrow valley. There is a legend about the place that the valley was so narrow that even a sheep could jump across it. The rocks in Mekadatu get slippery during monsoons so coming here in the rainy season can be a bit tricky. The rocks at Mekedatu get slippery during monsoon. The Chunchi Falls are situated near Mekadatu which falls before the Sangama. The best time to come here is during monsoons. The Sangam of the rivers Arkhavathy and Cauvery is splendid to look at.
