About the Destination:
One of the most offbeat places in Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur Kailash is a mystic valley with high rising snow glazed mountains and deep valleys. Located in the Himalayas, Kinnaur Kailash valley offers breath catching scenes when the first ray of the sun falls upon the snow clad mountains turning the blanket of the snow golden.
Although rugged and barren, the deep gaps between these majestic mountains are draped with the patches of the exotic coniferous vegetation which includes alpine species, and hardy grasses. This lush green sight is often explored by animals like yaks, dzos, Himalayan black bear and small ponies too.
About the Kinnaur Kailash Trek:
- The trek will take you at an altitude as high as 17,200 feet from the sea level during the hike.
- Kinnaur Kailash Trekking is made even more exciting with the arrival of Autumn when the entire valley is covered under the lush green outcome of the Monsoon which makes it one of the best times to plan your trekking.
- The distance covered during the Kinnaur Kailash trek is of around 14 KM which consists of moderate to high level of difficulty.
- The trek starts from Thangi village which serves as the base camp for the Kinnaur Kailash Trek and finishes off in Sangla.
- The places covered during the entire package are: Shimla, Jakhu Hills (Hanuman Temple, museum, advanced study hall), Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur, Sarahan, Thangi, Lamber, Charang, Lalanti, Base of Charang, Chitkul, Sangla (Kamru Fort)
Temperature:
- Day: -5 degrees celsius (winter’s minimum temperature) to 30 degrees celsius (summer’s maximum temperature)
- Night: -20 degrees celsius (winter’s minimum temperature) to 8 degrees celsius (summer’s maximum temperature)
- You will find an ATM in the Sangla Valley and it is advised to withdraw a handful of cash before continuing further.
