About the Activity:
Grab your friends and head for an exciting bamboo rafting experience in Pozuthana in the forested, lush areas of Wayanad. Enjoy a gentle glide down the Vythiri river on a bamboo raft, over calm flowing waters with shallows to dive into.
Stroll through a pleasant meadow to reach the dirt trail that takes you to the rafting point, which is on a bend in the Vythiri River. Do not forget to wear your life jackets even though the river seems shallow. It hides deceptive deeps in its path, therefore, an adept river guide will accompany you on the bamboo raft and he will pole it midstream from where you will float downstream as the river goes through exciting bends.
The calm river is a true delight and allows ample opportunity to observe birds and insect life on the banks, including the famous Malabar Hornbill. Photographers can spot small shrines to tribal deities on the river bank and splash around in shallow sections in the river. The raft will finally stop below the bridge around 3 kilometers downstream. You can dry off and head to a local tea shop for hot tea and snacks.
