This trip takes you for a ride on one of the most revered rivers in the Indian Himalayas – Alaknanda, and better still to its upper stretches where you have wild rapids and changing landscapes in terms of gorges and forests.
This trip takes you through a number of Grade III, IV to IV+ rapids including the famed Hillary Fall and Kakkar Fall.
The trip starts from Chamoli, which is situated near the revered Badrinath temple, and ends at Rudraprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Madakini rivers.
The campsite on the banks of the river is bestowed with a thick forest that serves as a brilliant backdrop and plays home to a variety of birds. The rhythmic sound of the gushing river waters is soothing to the ears and its beaches fit perfectly as a child’s playground.
