Garbett Plateau is located in the southwest direction of Matheran, offering a 360-degree view of one of our all-time favourite hill stations, it covers an area of 8 square kilometres in Sahyadris. This fantastic spot was discovered in 1850 by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the collector of Thane district.
About Garbett Plateau Trek:
This place offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Matheran range. If you’re lucky, you might get to witness reverse waterfalls too. Windy and breezy, this point is indeed a beautiful destination to hike this monsoon. Situated on the south-west of Matheran, Garbett Point offers a breathtaking view of the range and the lake below. The plateau can be spotted from the train itself. Garbett Plateau Trekking tour duration is 16 hours.
