About the Activity :
This weekend, you need to get away from the city blues and enjoy a refreshing trek to Chota Mahuli, an intimidating peak situated at 2815ft above sea level. It is the highest point in Thane district. A popular trekking choice and a paradise for rock-climbers because of its pinnacles, this mountain complex is actually a group of two or more hills with excellent weather and high peaks! The forest surrounding Mahuli has been declared as a sanctuary. The fort has been declared as a protected monument by the Archaeology Survey of India.
The huge Mahuli hill can be seen right in front with the three connecting forts on its top. The leftmost fort is Mahuli- Chenderi/Bhandargad. The central one is Mahuli and the leftmost is chota Mahuli. Between the Bhandargad and Mahuli are the famous pinnacles Navra, Narvi and Karavli. A one day trek to Mahuli can be done if the plan is to go till Chota Mahuli. However covering the entire hill including the pinnacles will require you spend a night in the caves. The caves can accommodate approx 12 persons. Enjoy your 45 mintue trek and engage in rock climbing a patch of 20ft approximately, only to climb another iron ladder. Then trek is for 25mins (one way) will get you to clear superb view of the 3 pinnacles.
