A towering summit of Tungnath, Chandrashila means 'Moon rock'. Legend has it, that this is the very place that Lord Rama meditated in after he defeated the demon-king Ravana. The top enchants with sights of magnificent Himalayan peaks such as Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba Peak. About Dayara Bugyal Trek:
From Haridwar, travel upwards to the Barsu Village in the Uttarkashi region. Enjoy packed lunch en route. Arrive at Barsu Village by early evening. A beautiful campsite overlooking the towering peaks of Gangotri, Jaunli, Draupadi ka Danda is your halt for the night. Enjoy your evening cuppa soaking in this ambience. Start on the day’s trek after breakfast. Trek for around 5hrs to arrive at Barnala Tal. After the clearing of the meadows, find a circling of oak trees around a natural lake. This is the highlight of your trek to Dayara Bugyal. Capture moments at Barnala Lake. Submerge in the tranquil environs with reflections of the oak trees in the water. After breakfast, its time to bid goodbye to the pristine Barnala Lake. Trek uphill to the ridge line seen from Barnala to land at the clearing of Dayara Bugyal.
