    A trek to the mysterious glacial Roopkund Lake is a must-do for an avid trekker. Battling several adversities common to the Himalayas, this water body perched in the laps of the snow clad Mt. Trishul is situated at an altitude of 16,499ft. It is most attractive for the human skeletons lying at the bottom of the lake, which are distinctly visible when the snow melts. Thus having several visitors although uninhabitable.

    The route along this Roopkund trekking expedition is a fascinating journey of discovering the most pristine of Himalayan contribution of oak and blooming rhododendron forests. Of fairly easy nature, the trail has several ascents and steep downhill hikes, which go past mountain rivers that flow in abundance.

    With some of the finest base camp locations such as Ali Bungyal, the Roopkund Trek has everything going for it.

    • Indulge in an eight day long trek to Roopkund which is a high altitude glacial lake in Uttarakhand and a salubrious nature for the accompaniment.
    • Arrive near Kathgodam Railway Station at 6:30 A.M get driven to Loharjung and enjoy the sights of a beautiful place with snow covered mountains.
    • Grab energy to trek to Didina, Ali Bugyal, Ghora Lotani, Bhagwabasa, Roopkund lake and finally to Bedni Bugyal.
    • Mark the seventh day of the trip with a challenging trek to Wan and then get driven to Lohajung after six hours of trek and one hour journey.
    • Return to Kathgodam from Loharjung at 5:00 P.M. and your trip ends on the eighth day.

    • Your trip begins at the Lohajung Main Market, from where you will check into your rooms which are allocated on sharing basis. It would be followed by a quick introduction prior to dinner.
    • Cherish your morning with a peaceful walk along the Neelganga river and cross it by a metal bridge. As you head towards Ali Bugyal via village Didina, experience the thrill of passing through the dense forests and steep climbs.
    • Witness one of the best meadows in the country as you cross through the twin Bugyals of Ali and Bedni on Day 3. 
    • Reach Bhagwabasa camps which are the base of Roopkhund village via Kalua Vinayak. It is a short trek with steep climb up to Kalua Vinayak and then a downhill trail to Bhagwabasa camps.
    • Climb up 4km from Bhagwabasa to reach Roopkund. In case, the weather permits you will be taken to Junargali which is 250ft above Roopkund. 
    • Admire the mesmerizing peaks of  Kedarnath ,Chaukhamba, Neelkantha, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti, which are visible from there and then head back to Bedni Bugyal.
    • Head towards Wan early in the morning and from there enjoy a road journey to Lohajung, where you can relax in your guest houses until you depart.
