About the Activity:
- Starting your hiking early in the morning from Le Petrin in Plaine Champagne you will take a scenic track through the Maccabée forest .
- Enjoy this opportunity to discover the breathtaking views on the island with possibilities of many snapshots along the way..
- Catch a glimpse of the endangered Echo Parakeet or even the Pink Pigeon, both native birds of Mauritius, exclusively found in the black River national park.
- Enter the Black River through an ancient hike trail and enjoy the delicious lunch at a kiosk. Then take 45 minutes hike to exit at the Black River National Parks Forestry.
- Expedition camp is located on a peninsula in the forest and surrounded by two rivers (deep enough for swimming) and just beyond a tea plantation in Sinharaja.
- After your arrival at the campsite, start your day with a lip-smacking breakfast and indulge in the bird watching activity as you enjoy the meal.
- Aftermath, embark on a short hiking amidst the dense and beautiful forest and explore the same.
- In the afternoon, enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch in the magical setting, followed by some fun filled activities and relaxation.
- In the night, carve your hunger with the five course dinner with beer and alcohol amidst the heart warming setting where the whole area is lit up with traditional flame torches and a roaring campfire.
- The next day, head back to your home with lots of memories, after a delicious breakfast.
- Kirigalpoththa is the second highest Mountain of Sri Lanka after Pidurutalagala. With a peak elevation of 2,388 meters above sea level. This 7 km trail is accessible to the public.
- Reach the starting point at around 6.30 AM, which is the Horton Plain National Park, from where your trek begins at around 06:45 AM after a brief introductory session and enjoy the delightful 5 hour long trek.
- You will be provided with ample halts to relax. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at the pinnacle of the peak. Post this, indulge in an exciting photography session.
- Sri Lankan Leopard & Sambur are two wild animals that you may come across. If you are lucky, you may even encounter a few endemic bird species as well.
- Head back down to base camp at around 5.30 PM and end your adventurous trek.

How to Reach: You can reach the location for the activity easily via public transport. Alternatively, you can hire taxi/tuk-tuk to reach the Horton Plain National Park.
Hiyare Rainforest is a preserved rainforest that runs as an Animal Rescue Programme. Your visit here will bring you very close to injured wild animals that have been rescued and are receiving treatment. And, the short guided nature walk in the rainforest will allow you to enjoy some endemic flora and fauna that can be seen in Sinhara Rain forest.
About the tour:
-You will be picked up from your hotel by an air-conditioned car with an experienced driver and drive to Hiyare.
-Visit Hiyare forest which will bring you close to the wild animals. After it, enjoy a short nature trail in the rain forest which will best for those who do not want to spend a long time trekking.
-As the tour concludes, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

- Get picked up from Colombo Katunayake International Airport and reach Kithulgala after two hours drive.
- Enjoy white water rafting for some time and reach to
Hatton where you will be accommodated at the Tea Hills Bungalow.
- Fill your second day with the lovely view of Devon and St. Clair Water falls and trekking is also possible there.
- Reach the Tea Castle to see a demonstration of tea production and enjoy your lunch there.
- Arrive at the famous Kandy Hills for a better shopping experience and enjoy a traditional dance show there and relax yourself at Kandy Hills Bungalow.
- Get driven to the Sigiriya Lion rock and climb up to the top and enjoy the overwhelming views on the top.
- Listen to various tales about Sri Lankan cuisines while you visit the Spice garden and get relaxed with a herbal head and foot massage before you get back to your hotel.
- On the last day visit Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela, enjoy an elephant ride too before getting dropped off to airport.
