Yelagiri (also known as Elagiri) is a small station that is located right between Jolarpettai and Vaniyambadi. It is a hill station that appeared during British colonial days. The entire Yelagiri area was once an asset of the well known Elagiri Zamindar Family. The Yelagiri Hills later turned into one of the most sought after destinations for adventure sports like rock climbing, paragliding and several others.

    About the Resort :

The resort is located between Mangalam and Athanavur in Manjankolaipudur. Eleven individual cottages are used for lodging and colourful gardens showcasing exotic species of flowers add to the magnificence of this holiday destination. A tour to Yelagiri is the best way to have a change of mind and rejuvenate oneself by the charm of the bountiful nature.

    Jungle Survival Theme:

Welcome to the jungle! Enter into a tribal world where technology is completely unheard of. In this exciting outdoor activity, it is the man verses the wild where you and your team have to face ordeals that come across in the forest. Bond as a group and use your creativity to come up with solutions to the various problems. The team that can tackle all the obstacles and survive will be heralded as the winning team.

In this activity, each group will be divided into different tribes.  You and your team will have to present some innovative ideas and choose your own tribal name, jingle and dance. All of this has to be unique to garner good points.

Get into the tribal zone with props of sticks and leaves. There are several adventurous tasks at hand. Provide for your tribe with the theme of collecting water. The catch is that you and your team will be given a basket with many holes and will have to use leaves to cover it up. Manage the whole thing in such a way that the water does not leak. Either that or you would have to collect water with a bamboo stick. Other activities include starting a fire using old techniques and hunting for food with a game of archery. You will also have to find shelter and build it with the materials that are provided. Engage in Scavenger Hunt where the utensils will be hidden across. You and your group will have to scout for them. Somewhere along the way, a lion is on the prowl and you have to undertake Jumaring (rope climbing activity). Also, one of your tribesmen is injured. The team has to make a stretcher with what is provided and will have to carry him back on top of it.

The team that manages to complete all of these activities successfully at the earliest will be titled the winner.

Miyar valley is located in NW of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It extends over 100 kms from Udaipur to great Kang la pass. It is also known as the Valley of Flowers. Miyar valley is comparatively easy to reach by road and there are plenty of untouched things to explore which are still hidden to the outside world.

During summer cultivating green peas, potatoes and Barley is main cash crop in the valley. July and August is the prime time to explore this magnificent valley, blossoming with high altitude flowers, rare Blue poppy is quite famous among all.

We start trekking from Udaipur which is famous for wood carved Mrikula devi temple; and explore the little know Miyar valley. Start from Udaipur, we will drive to Chamrat, and start the trek to Chilling.

Beautiful Himalaya trek offers an excellent sojourn in this charming valley and a chance to glimpse magnificent Himalayan Flora and with luck, some fauna as well. Another interesting facet is added to this trek by the small, picture postcard villages that seem to cling to the mountainsides and look as if they are straight out of a fairytale.

Kinnaur is the most scenic but less known district of Himachal Pradesh, located on the Indo-Tibet border. It is surrounded by Tibet on the east, Garhwal Himalaya trek on the south, Spiti Valley on the north and Kullu on the west. The Sutlej River, which rises on the southern slopes of Kailash Parvat near Mansarovar in Tibet flows through the Kinnaur valley. Due to the proximity of Kinnaur to Tibet, the life style and religion of its inhabitants had been influenced by Buddhism, mostly in the northern and central regions, although the majority of the people practice Hinduism.

Set within the Greater trekkings in Himalayan belt it boasts of the highest mountains in Himachal Pradesh. Close to the border with Tibet, entry to Kinnaur was restricted even for Indian nationals till 1993 and foreigners still have to register themselves with Inner line permit. Kinnaur valley comprises of the lower valley of Spiti and Satluj gorge, the two rivers race through valleys of The Satluj and The Spiti. Sutlej river which has its origin (common to the Indus and Bhramaputra rivers) in Lake Mansarovar beside the holy Mt. Kailash in Tibet.

Kinnaur holds three of the world's grand mountain ranges - the Zanskar, the Greater Himalaya and the Dhauladhar, Mount Kinner Kailash (6'050 m) dominates this region, it has religious significance for a huge "SHIVA LINGAM" the representation of Lord Shiva which is a 79 feet vertical rock formation that resembles a Shivalinga and changes color as the day passes. This is one of the mythical abodes of Lord Shiva.

The circuit around the whole range attracts many pilgrims every year. The Parikrama or circumambulation begins from Kalpa via Triung valley and back to Kalpa via Sangla valley. Drive up to Thangi and the actual trekking begins from here.

To reach this forbidden land, India's northern tip, before July, we travel through the Hindustan - Tibet highway, the ancient silk route following the Satluj. The Spiti river joins the Sutlej from the west and runs parallel with the Great Himalayan Range, the natural boundary between India and Tibet (China). In July it is possible to enter Spiti from the north, crossing Rohtang Pass (3980m.) into Lahaul and Kumzum La (4550m).

If you are looking for the ultimate level of river running in todays India, Total Tons Tonnage River Expedition is the place where your search ends. The distinguishing quality of this trip is its throughout consistent whitewater quality situated in some unbelievable high mountain landscape. Several torrents are flowing in these mountains which range right from Class III to V. This is not it. Amazingly, its whitewater sections are separated from others by an approximation of hundred yards flat water; making it perhaps the most methodological raft tour in the mountains of Himalayas.

Its adrenaline highs and utopian white water of 120 kms raises the standard of this expedition from all other expedition experiences. In fact, it gives a tough competition to the finest of waters across the world.

Not just the river tour but the trip is preceded by cozy noon where you can enjoy short hikes into the leafy alpine forests along with camps in calf high mint and marijuana. This started in 1986 by Jack Morison in form of an excursion of California, White Magic. The best month for planning this out is suggested to be may. So, every interested person, especially the diehard rafter will never forget this soulful experience with thrill and joy.

Sunder Dhunga Valley means the "Valley of beautiful stones". The trek is a little more meticulous than its better known "cousin's" of Pindari and Kafni. Once we reach the top, we will have all the answers regarding its name. It is visited by many tourists who come to Uttaranchal.

The valley Sunderdhunga lies along Sunderdhunga gad (Stream) which sticks together the Pinder River just below the Khati village. There is a village called as the last village on the Sunderdhunga valley, which is just 7 km away from Khati. Beyond Jatoli there is nature at its best Rippling streams, waterfalls, undisturbed wildlife and open meadows. Apart from this, there is a towering southern ring on the Nanda Devi Sanctuary whose peaks like Mrigthuni, Maiktoli, and Panwali Dwar are adjoined together with sharp ridges and hanging glaciers, dominate the Sunderdhunga valley. The upper reaches of the valley open at the meadows of Kathalia where local shepherds move in with their flocks during summer. The lush green meadows named Bal Top and forest of Rhododendrons and Juniper can be seen while travelling.

Also located in the Fatch Parva region, in one of the most beautiful villages, is the skilfully carved temple, bestowed to Duryodhana, the Kaurava prince from the Hindu mythology.

The livelihood of the local populace is farming rice, rajma and charas. They make use of the wood of Deodar tree for their house. We can find many people using Hookah for smoking. One can smell of pine while having hookah. Similar treks like the Chopta Tungnath trek are also very popular.

The serene, tranquil surroundings, gurgling streams, crystal clear water, and dense alpine forests make for an ideal retreat. The Dodital trek is traditionally used continuously by the Gujjars (the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos to the high meadows) every summer and occasionally by the pilgrims / sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Ladakh and Zanskar form the western edge of the Tibetan plateau and are popularly known as the "Little Tibet" due to the similarity of the culture and the high altitude desert landscape. Politically, this region forms a part of India, though the religious head is still the Dalai Lama."

This trek goes into the hidden kingdom of Zanskar. The trek offers close encounters with Zanskari life, passing interesting villages with their little gompas on practically every day of the trek. The route also takes in eight high passes and, depending on the time of the year, up to a dozen river crossings including the Zanskar river.

Lamayuru is a beautiful place. The flora and fauna is also similar to Tibet and is quite distinct from the rest of the Himalayas. The region, being beyond the reach of the monsoon, is dry with sparse vegetation. Willow groves and poplars are found near villages. Bushes of eidelberry, wild strawberry and sage brush are also common. The fauna includes marmots, blue sheep and ibex and an occasional snow leopard, besides many birds of prey.

A slow ascent up to the pass and then a steep descent to the Tsarap River brings one right into the heart of the Zanskar. The trail follows the river most of the way.

We will drive from New Delhi to the lush and exotic Kullu Valley crossing the Rohtang Pass to reach the start of the trek at Darcha. Towards the western end of the Himalayas a series of continuous mountain ridges, comprising scores of 6000m (20000 foot) peaks forms an effective barrier between the Indian provinces of Lahaul and Ladakh. Linking these contrasting mountainous regions is a Ladakh trekking route that provides one of the great challenges of the Indian Himalayan Treks.

We head north across the Shingo La into the ancient kingdom of Zanskar which is famous for its hardy inhabitants and starkly beautiful landscape. On the way one can encounter a row of isolated villages and numerous wonderful Buddhist monasteries, notably at Phuktal, Lingshet and Lamayuru. As a finale to what is unquestionably one of the world's most classic Indian trekking experiences, one can also plan to explore the fascinating and legendary Ladakhi capital of Leh.

Rise above the rest and make use of your imagination.  This fun activity revolves around how technology has evolved from the Stone Age to our High-Tech world. It is here that the team members get to use their innovative abilities and get an opportunity to bond. As this type of project requires many skills sets to ensure success, a team that strives to utilize each member’s strengths is that one that will shine.

In this theme, the different teams start working from the Stone Age and eventually rise to Civilization and High-Tech World. During this event, they will pass through 3 Ages, i.e. Stone Age, Iron Age and Nuclear Age, Nuclear Age being the most recent. As you and your group pass through each age, the behaviour, clothes, language see a change accordingly. At every age, the teams need to work on a different war cry. For every stage, there is a task that needs to be finished which will allow them to move in to the next. The three levels are.

      Stone Age

The prop for this theme is a piece of rag. Here the task given is relatively simple. You and your team will have a build a man pulled cart that will assist the entire team in crossing over to the next age.

      Iron Age

Get into the zone of the age with a long hat. At this stage, the activity gets complex. You and your team members need to build the bicycle with the materials given and travel to Nuclear Age.

      Nuclear Age

Teams must build a car and successfully test its functionality, with one person sitting and others pushing.

The thrilling game ends here. The team that manages to complete all the tasks first and come out with ingenious designs is the one that will emerge as triumphant one.

To get the medieval theme in full swing, teams appoint a king and possibly a queen and tailor make them an outfit fit for a king. They then get the team spirit going by creating their song and March past, proudly depict their empire. Next steps involve training the army on various war fronts by confronting to the challenges coming their way. For each challenge completed, teams earn ammunition. The better their performance in the games, the more ammo they will have to use against the other teams in the final fight. Through the by default material and extra ammunition earned, they need to build the fort and trebuchets/catapult. Post this begins the amazing battle of battles to conquer the world. Last fort standing is considered to be the next ruler.

There are several fun activities that you and your team have to overcome to triumph the empire. This includes Canvas Walk, Bridge Building, Roller Bridge and 3D Spider Web. In 3D Spider Web, participants from each team have to cross a web without touching any part of their body to it. Teams can go under, over and within the web to cross it to the other side. The other fun games include Ball Traversing, Catapult and Palace Building (where you will have to creatively build a castle with the materials given), Longbow Archery and Jousting Knights.

North of the Great Himalayan Treks, amongst a tangled knot of jagged mountains, lies a rugged and fascinating land, the once independent kingdom of Zanskar. Sandwiched between the Indus Valley and the main crest of the Indian Himalaya, this remote and inaccessible setting well guarded by snowy mountain passes, has kept alive an archaic form of Tibetan Buddhism which flourishes in chain of far-flung monasteries, most of which occupy spectacular fortified locations, high on rocky ridges in isolated valleys.

On the way you get to visit some ancient monasteries dramatically built on jagged hillsides and also stop and meet the Friendly Zanskari inhabitants. Quaint villages, high grassy meadows, a few crystal clear springs, shimmering snow clad mountains and the beauty of the desolate landscape makes this a fascinating trek.

Lovely high meadow camp sites and dry desert land, high passes and snow-capped peaks stunning scenery, Buddhist monasteries and picturesque villages with their irrigated fields of barley and potatoes, and fascinating encounters with the Zanskari people turn a trek in this area into an unforgettable experience.
