About Sepanggar Island:
Sepanggar Island is a small Malaysian Island which is located off Sepanggar in Sabah. A small local community thrives on the eastern shore of the island while the rest of it is largely uninhabited, giving it an air of unspoilt beauty. The sprawling landscapes are dominated by crystal clear waters and powdery, white sand.
You can get some amazing views of the Gaya Bay on its eastern shoreline. Since the island is also home to several peaks, covered in tropical rainforests, it also offers several opportunities for trekking and walking.
The island is mostly home to fishermen and not swarmed by tourists, making it a quiet getaway from the busy city life. But it’s quietude should not be confused with boredom as it offers several water-based activities like snorkelling, parasailing, sea walking, kayaking, etc. It also has a small snippet of history to its account as this is the site where several World War II bombs have been found.
