The Lohit river comes into India at the border with China near India's eastern most inhabited tip, at a place called Kibithu. It is a medium volume continuous Class 4+/5 river in its upper alpine reaches and becomes pool drop towards the latter end of the trip. This trip is an exploratory Kayaking Expedition supported either by raft / cataraft or land crews wherever possible.

One can look forward to rapids and paddle through some amazing white-water to discover a land that is distant and secluded from and is undisturbed by civilization. The expedition on the Lohit often requires support by land crews. The best seasons for the expeditions are March, November, December.

The expedition starts with a train journey that takes one from New Delhi to Dibrugarh where from 7 hours drive is anticipated to reach the town of Tezu. On the 5th day kayaking begins which continues through the week.

The Subansiri River which happens to be the biggest tributary of the Brahmaputra, runs through Tibet before it enters India at Asaphila in Arunachal Pradesh. It is inaccessible by road and has negligible inhabitation in the area. Subansari, a swift river offers excellent kayaking opportunities and is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

The Subansari Gold River is the biggest tributary of the Upper Brahmaputra and descends through verdant rainforests in the tribal state of Arunachal Pradesh. Subansari river rafting expedition passes through dense rainforests, ethnic surroundings and some great white water. This beckoning river is challenging and demanding. This river has no road artery linking it on either side of the Great Himalayan Treks spanning about 150 km.

The vertical rock surface around the river lends it a coarse look and challenges the adventurer in you. One can kayak on the challenging rapids simultaneously enjoy the serenity of the remote location when you set up camp for the day. For self-contained team of kayakers, we can organise a higher put in from Taksing, with helicopter induction, on request. The ideal times to go on this expedition are in the months of March, November and December.

In this challenging activity, we will raft encounter the 'Roaring Rikor" and "Zebra Rock" till the possible run on "Toothfairy" rapid at Cherring. We can get a chance to set up our camp on immaculate beaches at night, thereafter we will raft down to "Moing Madness" and enjoy a wonderful day of rest, relaxation, reading or learning how to kayak. We will spend a wonderful day by floating down the vastness of this river, past ethnic settlements, and beach at Pasighat, where the extent of our journey will finally hold close us.

Our journey will commence with a ferryboat ride at Dibrugarh on the almighty Brahmaputra, and up the densely forested river valley from the plains of Pasighat to our starting point. We will travel through isolated hillsides dotted with ethnic settlements in clearings bounded by dense rainforest with many species of ferns, palms and orchids. We will observe bamboo and cane bridges built by the local ethnic groups; and village visits will add to the exciting experience.
