While we wait patiently to try some ubiquitous South Indian dishes at Ramu’s Ghee Masala Dosa, Lemon Bath Masala Dosa & Akki Rotis, we can also munch on some hot bhajjis and bondas. Rasagulla Chat is next on our list and please don’t let the name fool you- it is undoubtedly a savoury chat and it is best enjoyed with some Chat Pepsi.  Malpua with Rabdi is another interesting concoction popular here and definitely will be savoured on our trail. Located near Shishila in Dharmasthala, Amedhi Kallu is one of the picturesque peaks in the Charmadi range of mountains and also a popular trekking destination. Considered as a challenging, this 14km trek would take you around 7 hours over 2 days.

Meet at 10pm. After an overnight journey of around 8 hours and arrival in Shishila, check-in into the basecamp and freshen up. Following breakfast at the camp, attend the briefing session and start trekking around 8am through the various terrains and reach the Amedhikallu peak. While at the peak, enjoy the panoramic views and relish in picnic lunch in the mountains. Pitch tents for an overnight journey. During the evening, relax around the bonfire. 

Next day morning, around 8am start trekking back to the basecamp in Shishila. Compared to previous day, this one is an easy trek and takes lesser time to complete. With your arrival at the camp, begin your return journey to Bangalore; en route, have breakfast in Dharmasthala

Get a pick-up from the meeting point of Bangalore at around 10pm. After arriving at the basecamp in Bandaje Village, freshen up and have breakfast. Around 7am start trekking towards the waterfall. The climb is steep and through dense forest areas. Spend the night in a campsite beside the waterfall.

Next morning, after breakfast in the camp, trek down to the basecamp in Bandaje Village by 12pm. Post lunch, depart the basecamp and embark upon the return journey to Bangalore.

About the Activity:

Begin the journey at around 10 pm from Bangalore. After a roughly 2 hour drive, arrive at the Harahalli basecamp around 12 am. Under the guidance of the certified instructors, start trekking to the Bilikal Ranganathaswamy peak. The trek to the peak takes around four hours to complete and upon reaching the summit, witness amazing views of sunrise. At around 7 am descend to the base and have breakfast. Post which, embark on the return journey to Bangalore.

Around 8am, start trekking through the different terrains and reach the historic remains of the ancient Kanoor Kote Fort near the peak, which was once the pride of the Havyaka Culture. Continue trekking till the second half of the day and make it to the peak. Enjoy the panoramic views and relax beside a lively bonfire at the peak.

Next morning after breakfast, at 8am, start trekking to the nearby Dabbe Falls and get close the magnificent beauty of the cascade. Following this visit, trek back to the basecamp, have lunch and start your return journey to Bangalore.

Conducted near the Manchanabele Dam on the outskirts of Bangalore, this 2-day guided escapade gives you an opportunity to indulge in an array of adventurous activities. 

Meet at around 8am and be driven to the Manchanabele Camp. The short but action-packed camp begins around 9am, with a brief introduction on things to come. After a 3-hour hike, which includes an obstacle river crossing, you will halt at the campsite for lunch and rest. In the evening you can look forward to a refreshing time while tube-rafting and kayaking in the Manchanabele Dam. As the darkness falls, enjoy your meal besides the bonfire before you retire for the night in an outdoor tent.

Famous among adventure enthusiasts, the trek to Bhatwada Waterfall  is best  undertaken during June through to September. The guided trek takes you to the waterfalls where you make way through splendid sights and a chilling bath awaits at the end.

After being picked up from Belgaum at around 7am, you will be directly taken to the campsite in Kankumbi. Once done with the breakfast, leave for Kalmani, the starting point of the trek. The around 4 hour circular trek is nearly 6-8 kms long, and takes you through dense forests in the area. You will also find a huge boulder on the way, famously called the Mother Mary rock, with an image of Mother Mary installed in it. The trek continues onto the temple of Shiva, also known as the Siddeshwar High Point (3,300 feet). The view from this point is breath-taking. When you finally reach the 50+ feet high Bhatwada waterfall, you can enjoy the chilled water that showers down on you.

After a refreshing experience at the waterfalls, return to Kalmani and leave for the campsite where delicious lunch fills you  with energy. You then leave for Belgaum in the evening with lots of memories.
