Description
The Kodagu Base Camp about 3km from the Tata Tea Estate offers a wonderful range of activities. Once you arrive at the Kodagu Base Camp at about 12:00pm, you can engage with the expert tour guides who will help you understand rafting, provide safety instructions and equipment as you gear up for the activity. This includes a 20-minute-long briefing session and a swimming lesson on flat shallow water so those who are willing to dive head-first into the sport are well-accustomed to the water and overcome their hydrophobia.
The gradient terrain and the rocky formations make for a refreshing rafting experience. For 3km the grade 3 and grade 4 rapids are moderate and ideal for beginners as well as experts. The gushing Barapole river and surrounding greenery will leave you completely refreshed. Post rafting, a jeep brings you back to Kodagu basecamp where there are separate changing rooms for ladies and guys. Hereon, you can opt to have lunch at Cafe Rubusta and trek to Iruppu falls at your own expense after which you can return to the Homestay which is 13km from the basecamp. Nature Fresh Homestay is a cosy home-away-from-home cuddled up in the warmth of nature’s habitat offering you a hospitable stay and remarkable food that is not just healthy but mouth-watering as well.
Early next day, you can head towards Bangalore after relishing a sumptuous breakfast.
