This glacier can be reached both from Almora as well as Kathgodam depending on the route chosen. The common beginning point for both these routes is in Bageshwar. The trek starts from Loharkhet and turns to Dhakuri which is a gentle incline that leads to Khati. From here trekkers pass through several quaint villages before reaching Khatiya. The best part about this trek is that it passes through more regions which include Loharkhet, Phurkia, Diwali and then Kafni Glacier.
The Kafni Glacier Trek is an easy to moderate trek and it is located near the Pindar Valley. The best time to explore this wonderful trekking trail is Mid-March to Mid-June or Mid-September to Mid- November. During winters the temperature drops below zero leading to a good amount of snow.
