    About the Destination:

Feel the king of the world as you conquer the highest stok kangri peak trek-able summit in the Indian subcontinent, Stok Kangri trek (perched at 20,086 feet). It resonates with divine beauty of Ladakh which is known for its black and white beauty with streaks of grey and blue. The peak is situated in Hemis National Park, home to the endangered snow leopard. The Park is also the largest notified protected area in India.

On this Stok kangri expedition, expect an adventure of glaciers, snowy paths, barren hills, sparkling water bodies, a steep slope of almost 75 degrees, rocky inclines and more.

Not for the light hearted, this trek is where you have to challenge your mental and physical self to brave thin air and cold temperatures. The reward though is worth it as this is a dream come true for ardent trekkers.

Tsarap chu trekking camp is situated in Ladakh tour. Following the Tsarao Chu experience a world that is intact, peaceful, and almost everlasting. The campsite of this trek is bounded with its wonderful flora and fauna.

Tsarap River carries glacial affluents from the Rupshu plateau and runs for a few kms along the Manali Leh highway north of the Baralacha Pass before taking a tortuous course through the mountains flowing in the north-west direction.

The Ladakh trekking camp 'Following the Tsarap Chu' is arranged to Tsarap, Ladakh travel. It joins the Kargiakh flowing from Shingo-La to form Lugnak. Very little is known about the trail along the Tsarap which at many places has to be crossed on rope bridges. The trek ends at Karsha outside Padum, the heart of Zanskar. The Tsarap or Tsarap Chu is a river of Jammu and Kashmir in northern India. It flows through the Zanskar region of the state of Ladakh. The river joins with the Doda River to form the larger Zanskar River.

Our journey will commence from New Delhi to Leh. While touring, we will get an opportunity of sightseeing at Leh. From here we will trek to Hemis, where there will be a village. There after we will move to Tikse and Hemis Gompas. We will get an opportunity to stay in camps at Kongmaru La, Kang Yatze Peak. There after we will pass through Sokra, Kharnak. We will explore the villages like, Gelugpa Gompa at Dat. We will pass the river called Zara Chu. Thereafter we will move on to our last destination Darcha by jeep.

Rumbuk is a Beautiful village which lies in the route of Stok Kangri. As one approaches Rumbak fields the valley suddenly opens up with snowcapped mountains in the background which is a great place to view Ladakh flora and fauna. Some of the prized sightings would be Blue sheep, the Great Tibetan sheep or the Argali, various mountain and migratory birds, high altitude flora and occasionally a Tibetan Wolf or a Snow leopard if extremely lucky.

During this trek one also gets to tread through the Stok La pass (4900 M) which commands great views of the Indus valley. En route one can visit the Stok Palace museum which houses rare collections of Ladakhi rulers.

This trek is the part of the Markha Valley Trek - a well known trek famous for wild animals. In fact a documentary made on Snow Leopards which eventually won a lot of appreciation and awards was shot in the same valley. It is a perfect moderately difficult trek for the weekend traveler. Low on time and still intend to get a flavor of Ladakh, this is the place.

Probably the most popular trek in Ladakh, Markha Valley Trekking will have you explore and experience a diverse geography.
