About Jomolhari Trek:
This exhilarating trekking adventure in Bhutan takes you to the base camp of Mount Jomolhari – one of the most celebrated Himalayan mountains in the country
It is a challenging trek, not recommended for seasoned trekkers, and good mental and physical preparation is suggested well before participation
Participants are required to cover long distances including steep climbs on trek to Jomolhari
The major highlights of the adventure are the grand views of Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, Tserimgang, Masanggang
Additionally, a spectacle of diverse flora and fauna can be seen en route in the form of refreshing vegetation of rhododendron, pine, etc., and a wide range of native and migratory avifauna
Drukgyel Dzong is the starting point of the trail that runs along Paro Chhu and passes through sweeping meadows, thick pine forests, paddy fields, and remote traditional villages of Bhutan
After covering this 115 km long trail, you reach the ending point of the trek, Dodena

- This twelve day trek takes you into an area adorned with a multitude of pristine, crystal clear lakes after starting your trek from Gynekha near Paro.
- As you walk amidst the shimmering lakes you’ll be treated to stunning views of the entire Himalayan mountain range and some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest, Jomolhari, Masang Gang, Jichu Drake, Gangche Ta and many more.
- During the trek an entire day will be dedicated to visiting some of the more picturesque lakes, fishing and resting. The trail also takes you through several Bhutanese villages so you can get a good idea of traditional Bhutanese village life as you make your way back from the lakes.
- While this is a somewhat strenuous trek, it is well worth the effort because of the tranquillity and beauty of natural landscape that you will enjoy during the journey. The best time to embark on this trek is between April to June or September to October.
