TAGORE S HOUSE JORANSANKO THAKUR BARI

As the name suggests the Tagore’s house is located in Jorasanko in North Kolkata. History has it that the house was where the famous non-European poet, Rabindranath Tagore, was born. Additionally, the place was the shelter for Mr. Tagore until his unfortunate demise in 1941. There’s no better museum to learn the long history of the Tagore family than the house they lived in.

As the name suggests, Tagore’s house is a museum dedicated to the life and works and besides his work, the museum also houses works of members of other pious families like Maharshi Devendranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath, Abanindranath and Dinendranath Tagore. For artifact lovers, the museum displays old musical records of Tagore.
