Münsterbrücke Overview
Most definitely a monumental bridge, and a must among places to see in Zurich, the Münsterbrücke was constructed in 1838, right in the centre of the scenic Old Town, over the Limmat River. Almost dividing Zurich into two halves, the bridge connects the Fraumünster Cathedral to the Grossmünster Cathedral, both of which lie on opposite ends of the river.

The former is popular for its stained-glass windows and definitely a must-see. Apart from being a crossing and a pedestrian bridge for locals and tourists, the bridge is also home to the commemorative statue of Burgomaster Waldmann, a leader who was executed in state politics during the late 1400s. Today, the bridge is a mark of cultural property of both, national and regional significance.
