MEKONG RIVER DELTA

Also known by the name south-western region or western region, Mekong River Delta is the region where the Mekong River breaks into different tributaries. This river flows in the south western Vietnam and the delta covers a large area of south western Vietnam.



The size or the region that water covers largely depends on the season. Popularly known as ‘biological treasure trove’, exotic ancient as well as new species like Laotian Rock Rat, Lizards, Fishes, Plants, and Mammals have this place as their origin. It is also referred to as ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam as it produces rice crop in large quantities along with other vegetables and fruits. Also, this area is rich in green vegetation and the lifestyle that people of this place follow is serene and relaxing.
