Alma Park Zoo Overview
Located in Alma Road on the northern side of Brisbane, The Alma Park Zoo based on 40 acres of land is the oldest zoo and the first one built in Queensland. Tropical gardens and paved pathway at the backdrop of lush rainforest trees and verdant growth of plants beautifies the zoo in the most fascinating way. Photography is allowed here so one can catch some great clicks of snakes, crocodiles, koalas, lemur, baboons and others. The zoo houses almost 200 mammals and comprises of almost 100 species including exotic ones from Australian natives, American, African and even Asian animals. Several events remain organised by the zoo like Hamadryas Baboon presentation, reptile presentation and others which makes the tour more interesting. The zoo is quite easy to locate as it is only 30 minutes drive towards the north of Brisbane, close to Dakabin Railway station.
