Ruinsara Lake Overview
Tons Valley, located west of Garwal Himalaya, is a thick forest of pine and deodar mixture. The valley remains a tourist center.Ruinsara Lake engulfed by several glittering peaks is actually serene haven.The area being a section of great Govind Sanctuary, this place is filled with Indians diverse wildlife and it stays the heart of nature and bird watchers.Villages made of unique wooden carvings along the highway perplex watchers. Ruinsara Lake lies within the popular Swargrohini ranges and this place is nearly married by Hindu Mythology. The famous route carries historic weight as it remains part of Mahabharata Legendary epic.
Talk of heroes like Pandavas, who roamed in this region when they were serving 14 exile years. The Swargrohini trekking is the joyous, easiest and popular in the entire Garhwal Himalayas. Several alternatives exists whether to proceed directly to Himachal Pradesh or change direction to valleys like Garhwal. While trekking along Tons valley you will probably notice high mounts and thick forests surrounding this wonderful area.There are many such beautiful places in Uttaranchal. Binsar, Dodital etc. are some of them.
Day one:
Form New Delhi directly to Lunagad Camp about 1120 meters away, it will take approximately 6 hrs in a train.
Luxurious vehicles at Dehradun will be waiting for you. They will comfortably drive you directly to Camp Lunagad in style. Here, enjoy lunch (2pm), drink, tour the tents, listen to briefing given and finally, relax.
Day two:
From Lunagad Cover 1815m to Bheduka. It takes two driving hours or 3-4 trekking hours.
Commence your day after taking breakfast. Take two driving hours from Lunagad Camp to famous Sankri. Right away from Sankri, trek to the campsite located 1800m from Sankri beyond Taluka Village. You then proceed to river valley passing through the thick forest. Arriving at the river, several Gujar-pastorals herding buffalo as they find higher pastures along this valley. Finally, land at the camp where meals are served. Relax and enjoy night here.
Day Three:
From Bheduka cover 3000m to DevThach(7hrs)
From Bheduka, trek to alpine meadow DevThach. This routes proceeds through this forest till Osla Village appears. The Osla Village is lies opposite of Lunagad Valley. The trail passes this village heading directly to a rest house (Seema) in the forest and teashops.From here, trek for about 1hr to alpine Meadow where you will stay overnight.
Day Four:
DevThach directly to Ruinsara Lake located about 3352 meters (4hrs)
The trail proceeds straight through meadows and thick mixed forest. As the train approaches the lake, the Ruinsara valley doubly broadens. Along the valleys with flowered meadows, village shepherds are seen grazing flocks during summer.This lake carries sacred meaning of nearby villages.The lake is actually surrounded by low rhododendrons and alpine pastures.
Day Five:
Ruinsara to the DevThach
Have relaxed day as you laze around watching snow peaks of Swargarohini. Trek straight to base camp as you capture magnificent view of the famous Bangerpunch peak. Go back to the base camp and have early lunch before proceeding to DevThach.
Day Six:
From DevThach directly to Bheduka which is about 1825metres away (6hrs walk)
You will experience long and joyous walk down to campsite of great Bheduka.
Day Seven:
Enjoy 3 to 4 hrs walk from Bheduka directly to Lunagad(1121m)
You may either take 4hrs trekking from Bheduka to great Taluka or have 2hrs drive.
Day Eight:
Enjoy touring Lunagad all along to New Delhi
After having your breakfast, proceed from Dehradun by train to Dealhi. You will arrive at New Delhi at Night.
