Bike Trip To Leh Ladakh For 10 Days

Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Get picked up from Chandigarh at around 12:00 noon and drive to Manali.

  After getting your bike, check its condition and performance with a test ride.

  Stay overnight in Manali.

• Day 2 -

  Manali - Rohtang Pass - Koksar - Keylong – Jispa

  Depart Manali early in the morning on your bike and stop en route at Marhi which is a barren landscape with extensive valleys and mountains.

  Proceed to Rohtang Pass that is at a height of 3790 M, one of the highest road points and gateway to Lahaul and Spiti valleys.

  After crossing the Rohtang Pass border you will enter the barren Himalayas.

  Khoksar is the first village and it opens the way to Lahaul.

  Follow the Chandra river to reach the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga river and arrive at Keylong.

  Continue riding to Jispa where you will stay overnight in a hotel.

  Ride for the day is approximately 8 hours.

• Day 3 -

  Jispa - Darcha - Sarchu- Leh

  Prepare for the most interesting overland high altitude ride up to Leh.

  It will take approximately 10 hours.

  Arrive at Darcha (3500 Meter) which is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and Zangskar which takes off from the Shinkun la.

  Afterwards ride to BaraLacha Pass (1620 Ft) and further drive to Sarchu which is the mid point of Manali Leh route.

  Continue riding to Pang and cross morai plains and arrive at Tanglangla Pass (5400 M) and enter the Leh Valley.

  Then ride towards Upsi by crossing river Indus and follow the highway up to Leh.

  Check in at your hotel for the stay at Leh city.

• Day 4 -

  Leh

  After arriving in Leh, get transferred to your hotel in Leh.

  Take some rest and in the evening, visit to the local bazaar in Leh.

  Stay overnight in the hotel.

• Day 5 -

  Leh-Nubra- Leh with Sumoor

  After breakfast, move towards the highest motor-able road of the world, KhardungLa Pass.

  Enjoy a cup of tea there and then proceed towards Nubra valley covering Deskit Monastery en route.

  Check-in at your hotel/camp, freshen up and then go for a Double Hump Bactarian Camel ride.

  Stay overnight at Hunder/Nubra camps/hotel.

• Day 6 -

  Leh-Nubra- Leh with Sumoor

  Post breakfast, check out from the camps and set out to visit Deskit Monastery, Hot Water Springs, Panamik via confluence of Shyok and Nubra River across Sumoor.

  Return to Leh by evening.

  Stay overnight at Leh.

• Day 7 -

  Leh-Pangong/Spangmik- Leh- return via Hemis

  Enjoy breakfast and depart Leh to proceed to see the Pangong Lake at Spangmik via Changla Pass (17350 ft).

  Stay overnight at the camps.

• Day 8 -

  Leh-Pangong/Spangmik- Leh- return via Hemis

  After breakfast, check out from the camps for return journey to Leh.

  On the way back, visit Hemis Monastery and the school where the famous movie - 3 Idiots was shot.

  Stay overnight at Leh.

• Day 9 -

  Leh  -  Sarchu (230 Kms)

  Get back to the biking track through which you can reach Leh.

  En-route, see Pang and continue ride to reach Sarchu.

  Sarchu lies in the middle of the two beautiful destinations, Manali and Leh.

  Stay overnight in the camp.

• Day 10 -

  Sarchu - Manali (215 kms)

  Begin the ride early morning through the Sarchu plain and reach the Baralaccha plain.

  Enjoy a smooth ride up the Lahaul ranges before you reach Rohtang pass.

  Cross Rohtang pass that has a number mini-rivers of mud.

  Reach Manali and submit your bikes (if you hired the bikes)

  Proceed for Chandigarh where your experience ends here.
