Trekking in Kuringal Gudda is one of the thirteen trekking trails offered at Kudremukh National Park. The trek starts from the Bhagavathi Nature Camp and leads to Kuringal Gudda and back to Bhagavathi Nature Camp.

Initially, you need to cross the Bhadra River, which flows behind the camp. The trail is formed of steep hills and valleys. The landscape predominantly consists of grasslands, and is punctuated with narrow strips of forests. The microclimate of the area is unique.

The Trekking offers a great opportunity to explore and discover the rare species of plants, birds, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, insects, and more. The picturesque terrain is dotted with mosses and orchids.

Soothenabbe Falls at the base of Hanuman Gundi: One of the major attractions near the Kudremukh is the Hanuman Gundi Falls. The water descends down in multiple-steps from a height of more than 100 ft. You can take invigorating bath in the shimmering pond formed due to the cascading water.

Sringeri: The picturesque town is home to a number of ancient temples. The two prominent temples known for their architecture are the Sri Sharadamba Temple and Sri Vidyashankara Temple. Sri Sharadamba Temple is devoted to the Goddess of learning and wisdom.
Vidyashankara Temple houses a number of sculptures from Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythologies, and there are 12 pillars designated for the 12 signs of the zodiac in the main temple.

How to Reach:

From Bangalore to Kudremukha: Take the national highway (NH) 48 to Sakleshpur via Channarayapatna and Hassan. Then hit the state highway (SH) to Kudremukh via Mudigere.
Kudremukh is well connected by road to Chikmagalur, Mangalore and Sringeri, and the SH-66 passes through the park. The nearest airport and railhead is in Mangalore (130 km).
