Sky-diving in India is still in its nascent stage. Introduced as an aero-sport by Agni Aviation in Bangalore in 1994, skydiving in India has definitely grown and films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara are only popularizing it. Today, several camps for skydiving in India are conducted across Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat and Indore more popularly. These camps offer Tandem Jumping, where a first-time skydiver is strapped to a professional and they descend together, as well as Static Line Jumping where a skydiver is trained for 2-3 days before making the first fall.
Skydiving in India is often advertised by various camp organizers. In fact, the Gujarat government has taken keen interest in this sport and has regular camps organized at Ahmedabad and Deesa. And for those who love to take the thrill global, here are some must-visit spots:
- Jump out of your plane in Wollongong, Sydney, and soar over the beautiful view of the Australian coastline, with whales and dolphins flapping below.
- At a drop of 15,000 feet, Seville in Spain makes for a fabulous dive.
- Now let’s get to some REAL Action! Head off to the heights of Kamchatka peninsula in Russia and skydive over a smoking mountain.
