Located in Kolar district of Karnataka, Kudumalai, has a religious as well as a historic importance. There is an old idol of Lord Ganesha which is more than hundred years old and approximately 19 feet tall. This is possibly the largest Ganesha Idol found in India. According to the priest of this temple, the Lord Ganesha idol is more than a thousand years old. There is a story that explains the existence of this place. It says that in dvapar yug, Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh carved this idol and hence this place got itself the name – Kudumalai. Every Sankashtahara Chaturthi, people throng this place. People believe that if prayed here, all the wishes come true.Best time to visit this place is between the months of January and December.
