Soulmate, Fun, Love, Memories: Chandresh Found Keywords of Life in Bali!

Imagine yourself neck deep in files, meetings, scheduled lunches with colleagues and restless sleep. Now, see yourself repeating this for the most part of the year; year after year. We know, it’s every Jack’s story and don’t feel sad, we know that most of us are this ‘Jack’ in our lives. But what if in our lifetime we meet someone who shows us a wider picture, a meaning to all our hustle and take our hand and pulls us to have a ‘good time’ once in a while. There is a term for that person – ‘Soulmate’.

1. Chandresh Sharma: An Entrepreneur Who Was asked to Travel

Chandresh Sharma, a young entrepreneur has the same story. An entrepreneur’s day is not his own. It’s driven by meetings, emails, reminders, sales and executions. Chandresh says, “Being an Entrepreneur, my desk is always hidden behind that pile of papers and my reminders are filled with Business meetings and stuff.” But, he didn’t know that was about to change!

2. The Motivation, The Destination

“… when it’s your anniversary, you need to make it special”. Driven by the motivation to give his better half a better piece of time on the anniversary, Chandresh made a decision to break the usual pattern and take his wife Deepti on a trip which was in her bucket list from a long time – The romantic Bali trip!
Bali for all the destinations attract couples more than any else place. It has a calm soothing vibe and nature’s blessing that mixed with its beautiful scenic views makes it a topmost choice for the lovebirds. Chandresh and Deepti were excited about this trip but never thought this would be one of the best experiences of their lives. Chandresh adds, “The days passed faster than the bullet train. It was somewhat the same feeling I used to have when the school summer break gets over”.

3. The Travelog: Bali and the Couple

Upon asking on how he’d describe his vacation, he said, “Even when our flight took off, the office stuff was running on my mind and I even had packed my laptop, in case if got bored. When we landed on that foreign soil, I was mesmerized. It was nothing in comparison to the metropolitans we had seen and the calm breeze of that green land made me forget all the hustle and work ppts I planned on making.”
The couple took the 6-day Bali tour with Thrillophilia which included the romantic Sunset Dinner Cruise, tour to the Uluwatu Temple along with the artistic colonies (Silversmith, Painting Village), Tampaksaring / Batuan temple tour, coffee plantation, Lake Batur, Mount Batur, Ubud, Tanah Lot temple and the surreal Candle Light Dinner at Jimbaran Beach Club. The couple also partook the day of Water Sports and a massage session. Sounds all dreamy, isn’t it? Well, yeah.

4. The Sweet Memory Lane

Chandresh fell in love with the Balinese vibe and the locals. “That middle-aged person named ‘Ketut’ who welcomed us in Bali was best local guide we could ask for. That funny named Taxi guy showed us the how beautiful Bali is and so were the people there.”
Deepti on the other hand, while enjoying all the attention from her husband and the mesmeric appeal of Bali, fell for the resort they were staying in. Chandresh mentions, “The Resort where we stayed was so beautiful that my wife started taking notes on how our future house should look like.”

The couple had booked the vacation which then extended to Kuala Lumpur and then Malaysia. Turning pages of all the loving memories Chandresh puts one as, “When we were waiting at the airport for our boarding call. I was sitting listening to some Coldplay looking at my wife shuffling pics on her phone. I pointed her toward the gift shop and asked if she needed anything from there? and she said, ‘Yes, but not from the gift shop. I want you to promise for travelling on all of our anniversaries till we see the whole world’. And there we had the Travelling pact which we made. ”
The memories still buzz, “I must say that guys in Thrillophilia made this trip a perfect escape. The candlelight dinner under the stars along the lakeside or the addictive feel of deep sea diving with the fishes of all color I could imagine. I wonder which I’d miss the most. My wife would surely miss those crazy rides from the amusement park the most.

Upon asking about the funny moment of the trip, Chandresh had a hilarious moment to share where the entrepreneur in him was not able to dress up for fun. “I went to the amusement park in formals where even people in their 60’s were having fun in comfortable shorts. My wife was making fun of me saying that I look like the manager of the park.”
Chandresh and Deepti also had a frightening experience in Bali which later turned out to be the highlight for them and made a statement about Bali. In Chandresh’s excerpts:

5. The Frightening Incident, The Happy Outcome

“In Bali, one night we were exploring the street market. Our phones, money and hotel keys were all in the bag. When we went for shopping, all of sudden my wife said that where is the bag? and my heart stopped. For next 3 hours, we searched all the places including shops, markets and all the possible places we’ve been to. We asked everyone possible.
After all the futile efforts we went back to the hotel. We entered calculating how much we had lost and I heard the manager’s voice ‘Is this bag yours, Sir?’ and I shouted ‘Yes!’. My answer was heard by everyone in the lobby.
I was speechless and my wife was jumping with relief. If I ever go to Bali again, that Hotel staff would be one of the reasons for me staying on their property”.

Between all the great stuff happening for Chandresh and Deepti on their romantic escape, they also bumped into the cutest of the couple on their journey. “We met a couple in there late 50’s, celebrating their golden jubilee. Within a few moments, they were like our Travel Guardians. We even got invited to their hometown in Darjeeling where we wish to visit soon”.

6. The Romantic Pact

The trip went so well that Chandresh also plans to book the same vacation for his parents. “I will be sending my parents for this trip right away. They are gonna love it.” Interestingly, with the Bali experience, the couple made a pact to travel the globe before their 40’s. Sweet, right!?
