Isn’t it crazy how every time we pick up a fantasy novel or a comic book, almost all of us lose ourselves in the world of fiction full of superheroes and villains . While reading all we can think is how cool it would be if we could go to Gotham city and watch Batman take down some villains or go to Hogwarts and learn all about awesome spells or even pay a visit to Professor Oak to get our own starter Pokémon to be the very best like no one ever was. How to travel the world full of fantasy is something that we all have wondering since ages.
Of course none of these are actually possible in the “Real World”, but that doesn’t mean you can’t actually get a tad bit of the fantasy life. From Middle Earth to TARDIS, Star Wars to Game of Thrones, below mentioned are some hand-picked locations that you should visit to fuel your inner geek.
1. Frank Sinatra’s greatest triumph, New York City

The city that never sleeps, New York is a mix pot of theatre, culture, tourist spots and generally pure awesomeness. If you are a geek, then it’s the perfect city to visit and explore the locations where Spider-Man swings and the X men fight prejudice against mutants.
Visit the Flat Iron Building which was the Daily Bugle headquarters in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man film trilogy – these are some of the best places to visit in USA for a true superhero fan. Madame Tussauds in New York have an Avengers exhibit where you can watch the characters from the film in statue form. Lastly, do visit the Nintendo New York store where you can find merchandise and games from your favorite Nintendo characters and have a great time.

For those looking for something besides Superhero apparel’s in Singapore, look no further than Action City Store located on Victoria Street in Singapore. This merchandise place boasts great stuff ranging from games to figures of your favourite superhero under one roof.
The inventory of this store is so impressive that some of the things cannot even be found on the internet. From figurines to limited edition toys and merchandise, they have it all. If you are looking for a specific superhero item that cannot be found anywhere, it’s safe to say it might be here.
3. Anime meets awesomeness at Akihabara, Tokyo

Moving on to the land that gave us fan favorite anime’s such as Naruto, Dragon Ball- Z, Monkey D. Luffy and of course Pokemon. Japan is a geek heaven-Akihabara district in Tokyo boasts of the largest electronic market that sells not only cheap gadgets but is also a great place to get cheap Manga, Otaku and Anime related merchandise.
Some places to check out here are Liberty stores where you will get second hand Anime DVD’s, CD’s and Blu-Rays, Akiba Culture Zone for a large variety of Manga and Anime merchandise and Cospa Gee Store which is a Cosplay haven.

You could be of any age to enjoy the joy of building Lego blocks. Literally everyone loves Lego’s. Take a trip to the original LegoLand in Billund, Denmark for a truly fun time. There are so many awesome things to do here to keep you entertained and fuel your Lego obsession.
5. Experience magic at Universal Orlando Resort, Florida

For all the Potterheads reading this, while neither we nor you received our letters to Hogwarts, rejoice in the experience of a lifetime as you visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This awesome theme park has a bunch of theme rides including a roller coaster called Dragon Challenge.
If you thought that was it, they also have a Hogwarts castle inside that you can visit a relive your dream of being a wizard. Like seriously, put on your robes and hats, grab your wands and set aboard the Hogwarts Express at Universal Orlando!
6. My precious Middle Earth, New Zealand

While watching the Hobbit trilogy, did you ever wonder where on Earth was Hobbiton shot in? If you also thought that Hobbiton was a CGI effect then surprise! As a real Hobbiton village exists in New Zealand near Matamata. The set was never dismantled and now people can go visit the village and get a real perspective about the life of the Hobbits.
New Zealand also happens to be a place where almost the entirety of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit were shot with more than 150 locations. There are so many destinations that you will relate to if you have seen the films, so do make a plan to visit here.
7. The Doctor Who experience at Cardiff

BBC’s Doctor Who is a cultural phenomenon that is followed by millions of people in the world. If were a die hard fan of this fictional series, do consider taking a trip to The Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
This is one of the best place to visit in UK and is considered as the Mecca for Doctor Who fans, showcasing a variety of props and merchandise from the show and tours of the filming location. You could also step into TARDIS, which won’t help you travel through space time but is still pretty cool.
8. From Westeros with Love – Northern Ireland

Game of Thrones is a TV show that almost everyone has heard of, unless you live under a rock or, God forbid, are really old. A large chunk of Game of Thrones has been shot in Northern Ireland and is incredible indeed.

For some people, the excitement of Star Wars might have been instigated by Episode 7 but for most others, it was the original trilogy (Episode 4 to 6, obviously) that made them a part of the Star Wars phenomena.
