Centennial Park Overview

Centennial Park is a green space that attracts almost 31 million visitors annually where they can celebrate, relax and train your mind. At the Park you can learn about your environment and reconnect with nature while taking a calm and relaxing walk. The Park is wheelchair accessible, dog friendly and has excellent children zones that make sure no one is left out and everyone has a good time. 

Centennial Park is an urban park in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney that occupies approximately 180 hectares of area and it includes gardens, wetlands, cycle tracks, sports fields, wide avenues and child friendly zones along with a dog friendly no leash area which is over 154 hectares in size. The Park was opened on 26 January 1888 during which the tree called the Cannons Triangle was planted. The opening of this park was a part of a week-long centenary celebrations of the European Settlements in the Island of Australia. There are numerous picnic spots within the park which are completely free of cost and perfect for a day out in the open air. 

The Park also includes barbecue areas, a labyrinth and children's WILD PLAY Garden. Every week, for two days there is a farmers market that is organized at the Park from where you can buy many locally grown produce along with clothing items and other essentials. The Centennial Park Sydney is a must visit if you are a nature enthusiast and love to sit on crisp green grass and admire nature's magnificence.
