Zanskar River, a remote Himalayan tributary of the Indus harbors is one of the most spectacular navigable gorges in the world. It is hailed as the Grand Canyon of the Himalayas. A journey down the Zanskar features an excursion through a natural paradise, submersion into a culture (Zanskari) virtually unknown to the contemporary world and a thrilling whitewater adventure.

Zanskar valley stands amid Great Himalayan Range and the Zanskar mountains. Zanskar River came into existence by the convergence of two Himalayan tributaries; the Stod/Doda and the Lingti-Tsarap rivers. Paddling the Zanskar consists of three days of intense rafting. As of yet, relatively few westerners have visited the land of Zanskar. This journey exceeds the expectations of the world’s most experienced adventure travellers. This is the place to experience the cultural and the physical adventure of a lifetime.

Day 01: We start our day rafting 35 kms of Class III/IV white water from Chilling to Nimu (3154m; 10,345 ft; 3 hrs). Our rafting experience will pass through the village of Tsogsti and exciting rapids as the Zanskar plunges out of the canyon to meet with the Indus at Nimu. The day’s trip will come to an end at the confluence of the Zanskar with the Indus. We will spend the night at Nimu in Camps.

Day 02: The new day begins with another 30 Kms of rafting on the rapids of Zanskar and Indus river combined which is a Class III/IV rafting. As the river is calm you can enjoy the breathtaking landscape. We will halt at a Scenic spot after Basgo for Lunch and soft drinks. We will resume our journey all the way through Basgo & Saspol village, before reaching Alchi. At the end of the trip we can explore Alchi village and Monasteries and spend the nights at Alchi in Camps

Day 03: The last day of our journey comes with a thrilling 30 kms of white water rafting from Alchi to Khaltse (3 hrs) on the rapids of Zanskar and Indus river combined which is Class IV rafting. Here our journey finds an exciting end and with all the thrilling memories in mind we drive back to Leh to reach there by evening.
