Start from Kochi either from hotel or airport. Move towards bird sanctuary of Thattekkad. Located at the lowest altitude, this evergreen forest of Thattakkad sanctuary houses 280 species of colorful birds. It is one of the low altitude evergreen forests. Birdlife includes various birds such as white bellied tree pie, grey hornbill, rufous babbler and several water birds. Apart from this, the wood of this sanctuary is now the agricultural and plantation regions. The areas give some sights of various avian. Thattekad is the most abundant bird habitat of India.
Day 1: Cochin to Thattakkad
Drive from Cochin and reach to the evergreen forests of Thattekkad. You get a chance to spot some varieties of birds like grey hornbill, tree pie, rufous babbler.
Day 2: Come back to Cochin
Come back to Cochin and start your further journey
