Triund is on the foothills of Dhauladhar range. The entire trek is full of enthralling experiences. The Triund trek is one of the most popular treks in the hills of Himachal. It makes for a very pleasant and enjoyable Trekking experience. It is a short trek on the oldest migratory route followed by shepherds of Chamba and Kangra.
The trek combines the beauty of two of the most beautiful valleys in the Himachal Pradesh. The views from Laka are breathtaking and you occasionally come across shepherds rearing their flock of sheep in the green pastures. This trek is easy to perform. Trek trail passes Dharamkot. We start our journey from Pathankot. Pathankot is connected with direct trains to Delhi, Jammu and other cities of India. Then we will visit Laka.
It is quite a unique town. In Laka there are Dhauladhar ranges. The Dhauladhar range is a southern branch of the main Outer Himalayan chain of mountains. The famous Gallu Temple is near the Mcleodganj waterfall in Dharamsala.

Day 01. On the very first day, we will move from Pathankot to Triund. This journey will take 6-7 hrs. Then there is a 2 hrs drive towards Gallu temple by car. After having breakfast, we will start walking on the well defined trail in woods from Gallu temple to Triund. It will take 3 hrs. Here we will stay overnight at the meadows in Triund.
Day 02. On this day we will go to Laka and get back in 4-5hrs. Then have a relaxed start, after breakfast, there is a walk for 2-3 hrs to reach Laka. Laka offers an amphitheatre view of the Moon peak and Dhaula Dhar ranges. Here we will be visiting places with breathtaking views. Then after start the downhill walk to reach the campsite for the hot lunch. We can also spend this day sipping tea, catching up with the local tales and just strolling around camp.
Day 03. A 3 hrs drive from Triund will take us to Pathankot. And again 3 hrs walk down to McLeod Ganj (originally established as a British garrison in the 1850s). In noon have your lunch in a restaurant and explore the township, which is more Tibetan than Indian. From here, drive for 3 hrs to reach the Pathankot.
Day 02. On this day we will go to Laka and get back in 4-5hrs. Then have a relaxed start, after breakfast, there is a walk for 2-3 hrs to reach Laka.
