Tholung Trek in North Sikkim is home of the ethnic Lepcha people of Sikkim. The trek ascending to the beautifully forested valley leads to higher alpine valleys. In these valleys the yaks graze below the snow capped mountains of the Kanchenjunga range. This journey takes us through lush forests along the River Ringpi Chu and up to Tholung monastery.

Tholung trek is one of the magnificent treks. The journey starts from Bagdora to Lingsha. The Tholung monastery houses many remnants and antiques collected from other monasteries. Many of these remnants are displayed on a special day every three years.

We will get a chance to stay in Gangtok. The majestic view of the mountains astonishes the visitors. The various monasteries and the antiques are noteworthy while going through this trek. We will move to the small villages, which are forested with various flora and fauna. The dense forest has slopes while going to Thoulung valley.

Day 1

On our arrival at Bagdogra/Bhadrapur Airport we will drive to Gangtok. On reaching in Gangtok we will transfer to a hotel to stay overnight.

Day 2

The next day morning drive will take us to Singhik in North Sikkim. Overnight stay is at the lodge.

Day 3

Witness the sun rise on the majestic peaks of Mt. Khanchendzonga from lodge, early in the morning. There is a panoramic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga, Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru and its umpteen adjoining ranges. After having breakfast start the trek to Tsana. Stay overnight at the camp side.

Day 4

Then trek from Tsana to Tholung Monastery where houses have many artifacts and antiques collected from other monasteries. These artifacts are displayed on a special day, every three years. An overnight stay is at a camp or lodge.

Day 5

You will have a chance to explore around Tholung Valley. It is in north Sikkim, and is home of the ethnic Lepcha people of Sikkim. You can stay overnight in Camp.

Day 6

This day will cover our trek back from Tholung to Lingsha- it is the small village where the road ends. In the afternoon we can visit the villages, which share the customs of Lepcha. The Lepchas live in small villages amongst the dense forested slopes high above the Tholung valley. Get back to Singhik. An overnight stay is at the lodge.

Day 7

The next day we drive back to Bagdogra, which takes us to the last lap of the trip.
