The Beas Kund Trek

Beas Kund trek is one of the most popular and beautiful treks in Kullu Valley. Beas Kund is a holy lake where Rishi Vyas took his daily bath. River Beas originates from here. Dhundhi camp gives first glimpse of Mt. Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters. This is enjoyable and easy going trek for any age group.

This trail commences from Solang which is at a distance of 17 kms from Manali and takes you to Beas kund or the lake from where the River Beas originates. Solang boasts some of the best skiing slopes in India. It also harbors a lovely campsite at the Solang Nala, where a night halt is much advised. Leaving Solang behind, the trail takes you to Dhundi. This quaint little mountain hamlet has nothing to offer but the scenic beauty and the resonating silence to our weary city souls. From Dhundi to Bakkar thach, the trek is more like a leisure walk. Bakkar Thach is a highland meadow and it literally means 'Shepherd's fields'. These sun and wind swept meadows will be a feast for your senses indeed. The next stop on this trek is Beas Kund, the final destination. It is a Frozen Lake at a height of 3690 mts. The trek from Bakkar Thach to Beas Kund is a day long, round trip excursion. This truly is a Himalayan wonderland and the view is surely astonishing.
