Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary

Set in the Erakulam district of Kerala, this Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary houses around 500 species. There are dense tropical evergreen and deciduous forests. This prominent bird sanctuary covers an area of around 25 sq km. The list of rare birds contains Sunbird, Bee eater, Water hen, Ceylong Frog etc. The forests of Thattekkad sanctuary comprises of varied plants of oak, mahogany, rosewood. It is also home to several animals. The dense and thick forest of this sanctuary is home to 28 various reptiles and fauna.
Day 1: Drive from Kochi to Munnar. Check into the hotel lodge. Rest in the hotel and after some time, start traveling towards Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary. The pristine river of Periyar is seen. This sanctuary is a home to various animals and nine diversities of reptiles.
Day 2: Get up early in morning and get fresh. After having breakfast, depart from hotel or lodge.
