South zone Birding tour
South Zone or South Western Ghats offers unusual rambling plants and lush green lands on hills. These are the most enzootic regions of birds on earth. The paradise of wildlife lovers and nature gazers Neyyar wild life sanctuary is bounded by the Western Ghats. Pass through the brilliant and colorful landscapes, sheer pleasing birding tour is unforgettable. Do not forget to explore Peppara wildlife sanctuary where you can find versatile birds including ling Kobra and python. The deciduous forests are reached after crossing hilly and low slopes. Verdant in its flora and fauna, Mundanthurai is another sanctuary which rages from dry forests to evergreen woods. Move towards an outstanding sanctuary, Koonthankulam is maintained by the villagers. It is the hugest breeding water bird reserve which has attracted lakhs of birds every year.
Day 01:
You will be received at an International Air port or Railway station. You are free to explore Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala.
Day 02: Neyyar
Neyyar national park is home to various birds like King Fishers, Water hen, Woodpeckers, Indian Cuckoos, Hill Mynas, Little Egrets, Darters, white breasted water hen, Brahminy Kites. Deer farm, Crocodile Rearing Centre and Lion Safari are the main attractions which set near the dam site.
Day 03 & 04: Periyar
Spend full day with house boat to spot birds. Periyar sanctuary is full of colorful birds like kingfishers, cormorants, darters, racket tailed Drongoes. You may find python and even King Cobra while trekking in forests.
Day 05: Kumarakom
A home to more than hundred varieties of native birds, Kumarakom hosts 60 species of migratory birds also. An extensive variety of fish, crabs and mussels can be found.
Day 06: Cochin
The last day will bring you to Cochin. Start your further journey.
