Singalia Trek from Utteray side

Sikkim's most popular trek takes one to the foot of Mt. Kangchenjunga, the 3rd highest peak in the world. The Singalia Trek in Sikkim is said to cover the political boundary between Nepal and Sikkim. Singalila trek has a barren landscape, which is devoid of any trees and boasts of steep and rocky hills. The folds and grassy meadow of Singalila adds delight to trekking at Singalila. It offers majestic view of the Himalayan Treks.

The Singalila trek of Sikkim starts from Kangchenjunga to the northern plains of Bengal. The Singalila trek of Sikkim is sandwiched between 12,000 feet to14, 000 feet. Moreover, the landscape of the Singalila trek adds delight to trekking at Singalila. It is famous for the subtropical forests, rhododendron forests, and alpine meadows where the hairy yak herds graze in the high valleys surrounded by glaciers and snow. It is also said that the Singalila trek of Sikkim houses a “blissful environment”. It is because, the lakes of the Singalila adds a perfect charm to the atmosphere of this trek.

The trek lies amidst the grandeur of the mountain peaks, lush green valley’s cascading waterfalls and fast flowing rivers, beautiful monasteries and terraced hills. Sikkim offers its visitors a rare and exotic experience.

Most of the dwellings in Sikkim are rustic, consisting of a bamboo frame, woven with pliable bamboo and coated with cow dung, providing a warm interior. In the higher elevations, houses are made of wood. Sikkim is one of the few states in India to receive regular snowfall.
