River Rafting in Teesta River

 

River Teesta, along with its many tributary streams, is a life line of Darjeeling-Sikkim Hills and downstream plain areas.

The Teesta River is one of the most scenic rivers in Eastern India. The tortuous river is ideal for River Rafting. It is the primary watershed of central Sikkim with a number of smaller tributaries which offer great Kayaking and River Rafting.
Town: Kalimpong, West Bengal

Exact Location: Situated 32 km away from Kalimpong, Neora Valley shares its border with Western Bhutan and the forests of Sikkim.

How to get there:

By Air: From Delhi to Bagdogra Airport or Bhadrapur Airport

By train: From Delhi to NJP Railway Station

By Road: There are buses available from Siliguri to Kalimpong (100km)
which is 32km away from the entry point Lava. Another route is from Siliguri - Chalsa (65km) - Samsing (18km). The park can be reached by road from Samsing.

Nearest Town: The Neora Valley is located close to the tourist destination of Lava.

Distance: Delhi –Kalimpong 1467 km.

The best time to visit: October to June.
Other Attractions in the Vicinity: Darjeeling nearby is a worth-visiting, because of its flora and fauna inside the park.

All foreign clients are to carry their passport which will be required at the ‘Teesta Bridge’ while crossing and also enter details of the same on Bond Form.

Non-swimmers are welcome but may be restricted to certain sections of the river, on the advice of the River Guide/Trip Leader.

Consumption of any intoxicant is not permitted. Age limit is 14 years on all sections except the float trips, where it is relaxed to 10 years.
