This tiger reserve lies next to Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, in the south of Western Ghats in Kerala. The park is 285 sq km of the entire area. The Parambikulum Tiger Reserve also comprises of Sholayar and Thekkedy along with several rivers flowing across the park.

The park is well known for its teak plantations. You will also find sandalwood, rosewood, bamboo growing in abundant inside the sanctuary. Before teak plantation, teka used to grow a lot here. But now this has changed. The Kannimari teak tree supposedly the largest of all grows here. The tree is situated 5 km from Thunakadavu and a major must see thing in the park. The flora and fauna here comprises of tigers, elephants, sloth beras etc and 140 odd species of birds.

Day 01:

You leave for the sactuary after breakfast. Reach in afternoon and start a hike through the Karian chola National Park. Reach the camp area in the evening. Have your dinner in the evening and stay in the camp for the night.

Day 02:

You have an early morning breakfast and continue with the hike. You trek through a century old tramway path made for transporting teak trees. Now this path belongs to the animals and there are bright chances of spotting the tiger on your way. You can also spot deer, gaur etc. By evening reach the camp and start your return journey back home.

- Diary, pen, a book to read, cards or other games

- Medical kit (for just in case)

- A big smile and positive attitude
