Pangarchulla Climb 4575m

 

Pangarchulla Climb, Uttaranchal, is a nice climbing spot. Spring is the best time to trek through to the Pangarchulla peak. Pangarchulla peak is good introductory climb for novice trekkers.


Pangarchulla becomes a beautiful climbing objective in the spring after having accumulated all the winter snow. An easy low peak, which gives a good feel of a climb-plodding the crisp morning snow with amazing views of high mountains.


A tour to Pangarchulla peak leads us to fewer challenges with loads of photo opportunities of the panoramic views. Our journey will start from Delhi to Rishikesh. On first phase we will visit Rishikesh and Haridwar. Then after, we will move to the small town of Joshimath. To reach Tali, we will hire cable car and stay there in camps.


While going further, we will visit the ranges via Kuari Pass. Moving ahead from this we will find the famous “advanced base camp”. While going back to Khulara, there is a climb down to Tapovan and Pipalkoti, which is the last destination of our tour.

Day 01:


Delhi to Rishikesh (330m) 5-6 hrs


On the very first day we will start from Delhi to Rishikesh and will reach Hardwar at 11:30 am. Check into the hotel or in camp in Rishikesh, a bustling pilgrim township, a popular meditation centre and the Yoga Capital of the world. In evening we can explore the township and attend the evening prayers on the banks of the river Ganga. At night stay in hotel and have your dinner.

 

Day 02:


Drive Rishikesh to Joshimath (1560m) 8-9 hrs


An 8-9 hrs drive will take us into the rugged country of the Garhwal along the Alaknanda River. While moving further, the road keeps ascending to the small township of Joshimath, which is the base for the Indian Army and the Indian Tibet Border police for this area. Stay at night in Joshimath.

 

Day 03:


Joshimath - Tali (3310m) 5-6 hrs


A drive of 5-6 hrs will take the cable car up to the ski slopes of Auli (2750m). From here we will have the chance to see a distinct profile of Nanda Devi at the head of the sanctuary. The walk will bring us through the forests of oak and rhododendron to reach meadows of Gorson. From here the track descends steeply down into the forest and we camp by a small water body at Tali. Stay overnight in hotel.

 

Day 04:


Tali to Khulara (3395m) via the Kuari Pass 5-6 hrs


On the fourth day, early in the morning, we will start with the trail which ascends the edge above Tali and cairns mark our track. Just below the pass, the trail leads through a large meadow affording spectacular views of the Himalayas. North of Joshimath is the Chaukhamba range, Nilkanth (6596m) and Narayan Parbat (5965m), while Mana peak (7272m),Kamet (7756m) and Abi Gamin (7355m) extend to the Tibetan border. In the middle forefront, the main Himalayan chain in the surrounding area of the Bhyundar valley and Hem Kund includes Nilgiri Parbat (6474m), Rataban (6166m), Ghori Parbat (6708m) and Hathi Parbat (6727m). Dunagairi (7066m) dominates the peaks to the north of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. The Kuari pass (3840m) is by no means demanding – we will have our lunch here and then will go down after an hour to the base camp at Khulara. In evening take rest enjoy the lovely atmosphere and get ready for dinner. Stay in the hotel at night.

 

Day 05:


Khulara Base Camp – Advanced Base Camp (4000m) 3-4 hrs


After having breakfast, a 3-4 hours drive will take us to an Advanced Base Camp. Thereafter, we will get ready with our climbing gear and start plodding up towards the high camp. From here, most of the tracks will go on a moderate slope on the snow covered North face of the mountain slopes with great views of the high mountains. A short pass will bring us to the advanced base camp. Stay there in camps at night.

 

Day 06:


Advanced Base Camp to Summit and back to Khulara Base Camp 3-4 hrs


We will wake up early in the morning to be up on the summit to take a glance of the sunrise on wide Himalayan panorama. Here we will have loads of photo opportunities! This walk will take us up to the summit and would take a couple of hours. Thereafter we will go down to have hot lunch at base camp. Enjoy in evening party with delicious food at night.

 

Day 07:


Khulara – Tapovan (1905m) 4-5 hrs and drive to Pipalkoti (1330m)


On this last day of the climb will be all the way down to the Tapovan. It’s about 3 hours drive from here to the comforts of the hotel in Pipalkoti.

 

Day 08:


Pipalkoti – Delhi


After an early morning breakfast , we will set out for the long 8 hr drive , back to Haridwar and then back to Delhi. Trip ends.
