The list of noteworthy caves contains, Krem Kotsati, Telengkol- Balwakol, Siju Dobakkol, Krem Umshangktat, Krem Mawmluh, Bok Bak Dobakkol, Krem (East Hills) Dam, Dobakkol Chibe Nala, Soh Shympi, Krem Phylutt, Krem Lashing Krem Sweep, Krem Um-Lawan.

Day 01: Krem Liat Prah

 

The longest natural cave in India, Krem Liat Prah is one of 150 known caves in the Shnongrim Ridge of the Jaintia Hills. According to the survey, its current length is about 25 kilometers and will be increased as nearby caves continue to be linked. Aircraft Hangar- an enormous trunk passage is the main attraction.

 

Day 02: Synrang-Pamiang

 

This cave is located in north of the track from Chiehruphi village. It is proved that, this cave is India's 3rd longest cave. It is very rich in colored formations. A chamber called “Titanic Hall” is a spectacular looking hall studded with pearls. You can get entry in any of these five entrances, Krem Musmari, Thloolong Cherlamet, Krem Eit Hati and Krem Khlieh Trai Lum.

 

Day 03:Krem Lubon

 

Set at the foot of a 30m high waterfall, this cave is a renaissance cave, with an astounding entry, which is concealed at the back of the waterfall. The length of this cave is 687 m.

 

Day 04: Krem Chympe

 

Krem Chympe, India’s 5th longest cave placed 3 km north of the road passing through the Khaddum village and Sielkan. The river cave has large deep caves in which you would be required to swim. This cave has a bats and cave-adapted fish in large numbers. This cave has a lot of new things waiting to be discovered. Sielkan Pouk performs as a sink to the cave system.

 

Day 05: Kotsati - Umlawan Cave System

 

An entry point of Krem Kotsati sets in the centre of Lumshnong village. You need to swim to get into the cave. The entrance is submerged in monsoons. Being a system network of all caves of Meghalaya, this cave has 24 entry points. No part of the cave is more than one hour away from the nearest entrance.

 

Day 06: Krem Umkseh

 

The striking cave-entrance is positioned in the rear of sawmill which is south of the Lumshnong Petrol Station. A splendid river cave is loaded with structures and mostly low down but open, soggy and heaving bedding plane passages. The length of this cave is 1268 m.

 

Day 07: Krem Shrieh (Tangnub Monkey Cave)

 

Tangnub Monkey cave is reachable from the village of Tangnub. It lies at the end of a fluted canyon. This cave has marvelous key-hole passages. These passages are covered with orange mud. Just one entrance needs prusiking on the way out. India’s 5th longest cave is presently the deepest direct shaft known in India.

 

Day 08: Krem Mawshun

 

A dendrite river cave plays a role of a collector for some lakes. Decorated high level passages are the main attraction of this cave. The cave is gorgeous and 3339 m in length.

 

Day 09: Krem Syndai / Krem Jogindra

 

If you move to the village to a point where it gets steeped and immediately below this, a small path will take you through the forest to the left, where the cave entrance lies. The entrance opens with the impressive proportions. This cave is worshiped by Hindu saints from Nepal. Krem Jogindra has some amazing calcite formations.

 

Day 10: Krem Umthloo

 

Walk down to the slope from Tongseng village, and reach to a sink which is free climbable and will take you to a very unstable boulder blocking. The downward passage leads to the dream of cavers, of big stream-way passages. An ultimate river cave with magnificent formations would leave you enchanted.

 

Day 11: Krem Iawe

 

Krem Iawe cave is located on upper reaches of the Litien valley. The cave has umpteen beautiful fossil passages. It is 3398m in length. This cave has the impressive daylight lit pot-hole; this can be entered through a free climbable slot in a sheltered nook.

 

Day 12: travel to the Khasi hills

 

Khasi Hills are part of the Garo-Khasi range in Meghalaya. These hills are populated by tribal Khasi dwellers. People of this region are traditionally in various chieftainships. Petty states are known as the Khasi Hill States.


Day 13:

 

Krem Mawkhyrop is also known as Krem Mawmluh. The main entrance is set at the bottom of the western flank of Lum Lawbah. You can easily reach to downstream for about 200 meters to a point where the river vanishes underground. You need to swim to enter into the main sink. The best way to enter the cave is that you pass through a high level entrance, runs parallel to the main passage.

 

Day 14: Krem Dam and Mawsmai Cave

 

An imposing entrance hall of Krem Dam is situated at the bottom of a huge unsighted valley, to the east of Mawsynram village. The stream runs down under the cave and the valley gets into the cave, this cave is formed in a grainy facies of limestone which looks like sandstone. Mawsmai Cave has a very large river passage. Krem dam has no major calcite structures. This cave boasts of being the only lighted cave among many others. It has extraordinary formations of large channels and cavities.

 

Day 15: Krem Lymput

 

Set around 6 km from the village called Nongiri, this cave has hidden entrance, which has been covered by forests. It is a beautiful cave to explore. The main small entrance hole runs with inclines walls. Move towards reach to a passage, which is known as “Way to Heaven”. The slippery climb takes you to the galleries. These galleries are rich with its calcite formations. Mughal Room is the prime attraction.

 

Day 16: Krem Mawjymbuin


This cave is settled on a metal led road, half a kilometer before reaching Mawsynram village. This route moves to the left and reaches to a parking area by the cave. This appeals of a Shiva Lingam, and has now called as holy shrine for Hindu believers. The cave has an entrance chamber of 50 meters, and has a big stalactite over a female stalagmite. This cave is shaped in calcareous sandstone. The height of this cave is 209 m. The cave has 2 passages; small stream is flowing under the left wall of the chamber. Another side passage leads to second rift entry, which exits out through the rear. Second passage goes to a small rift.

 

Day 17: Travel to Garo hills

 

Set in the western part of the State of Meghalaya, Garo hills are in Meghalaya district. It is loaded with delightful mountain peaks, emerald blue rivers, waterfalls, green jungle and an extensive assortment of flora & fauna. Head office of West Garo Hills is Tura. After Shillong, the second largest town in the state is Tura.

 

Day 18: Tetengkol Balwakol

 

This cave is located around 4km north of Nengkhong village. One meter diameter circular entrances of Tetengkol Balwakol progresses to 5.7 km of Dendrite River cave. This cave has a network of stooping size passages. A large cave with a small entrance is really amazing to find behind it.

 

Day 19: Siju Cave

 

Siju cave is around 132 km from Tura, famous for Dobakkol. It is branded as the bat cave with radiant stalagmites and stalagmites. Siju cave is one of the longest caves in the Indian Sub-continent. Still some of the premium river passages are to be found. The striking mineral rock formations inside are particularly named after princes Di's chamber by the excavators.

 

Day 20:


Dangedikol Chiningkrikol The entrance of this cave extends to a large meandering stream passage. This cave houses a large number of bats. The cave is 1352m long and moving ahead.

 

Day 21: Korekol


A tunnel cave is linked to a sink in the downstream end of valley in pinnacle karst to a resurgence at the rim of (the locally) shallow limestone outcrop below Matrongkol. Move to the entrance, which moves to a boulder collapse obstructed by driftwood. Climb 2m to shallow pool from where a north-south running passage continues to Y-junction. North South passageway moves to right side, and continues all the way to the revival of the passage as North-North East-South-South West passageway. Y junction is the main drag goes into two parallel passages. Continue to move after crossing a rift chamber, reach to the passage, at the rim of the limestone outcrop.
